It gets worse I am afraid, in the same shoes and there are no 6S or 6S Plus IPSW's as of yet...

Apple will have something on their Public Beta website I can imagine - there will be devices running iOSX somewhere inside Apple's walls, so a 9.1 6S+ IPSW isn't out of the question. It'll just mean a bit of extra messing about once I've got it.

I do hope we get one, I have made a thread about it to see what those in other order threads say. I shall link you for information!

"An error occurred while retrieving your parcel data, please try again. If the problem persists, please use the Contact form on the UK Mail website, clearly stating your name, telephone number, email address and account number and we will assist you during normal working hours." anyone else getting that on UK Mail?

Yep...

Anyone had any updates with O2 and UKMail, my tracking number still isn't working. And neither does the link on O2's website.

Considering the potential numbers of people out there now doing the Public Beta I'd be very surprised if there isn't a beta version of 9.1 compatible with the new phones come tomorrow

Can we restore the backup via iCloud though? Or am I right in thinking it would be the same thing?

This. I'm running 9.1 beta on an iPhone 5. Can I restore from iCloud backup to the 6S running 9.0?

Separately, re John Lewis. I have ordered a 6S. Now I'm thinking that maybe I should give the 6S+ a go as this will likely be my phone for the next three years. I might purchase a 6S+ from JL, play with it over the weekend, and return it if I don't like it (I have a work iPhone 6 for comparison). Will JL returns policy cause any hiccups with this? I'm on Three.

Thanks all!

Is this under 'Manage my delivery' ?

I now have action on UK Mail website and also just received a text from them saying they will be delivering tomorrow with options to change delivery for Monday +

Nope. Apple started testing a new thing with iOS 9 though - it'll keep a copy of your last non-beta backup, incase you want to go back. The problem is, if you were never on iOS9 public you won't have one of those backups. (But i've seen reports that it doesn't work for some)

There is a guide on reddit I think where you can back up in iTunes and manually edit a backup file to fool iTunes into thinking it's a 9.0 backup - but I think you'd have to be pretty brave to do that!

Thank you. I think I may try and downgrade my iPhone 5 to iOS 9.0. It's going to be a massive PIA though.

If you buy a phone that is unlocked (i.e. SIM Free) then that is the way it will stay permanently. No Network Operator has the right to lock your SIM Free device to their network.

SIM free does NOT mean unlocked! People presume it implies so, but it (in Apples case) just means the phone is being sold without a SIM.

Apple's software locks to the first SIM inserted for third party phones (i.e. not sold by them), and then you have to request to that network that they request to Apple to release the lock on your phone, even if its "SIM free". It is not the networks choice to lock it. I'm sure they'd rather it didn't and save them the hassle, which is why the like of EE etc. I believe charge £8.99 for the cost of someone having to sort it and request to Apple.

Once this is unlocked once (by Apple, hence why it has to be done through an software update), any SIM can be inserted on any network at any time as many times as you like, and it can be sold on as SIM free and unlocked. Simples!

Just received a text from DPD confirming delivery tomorrow but no time slot.

Your order will be delivered 25 Sep by DPD. Not going to be in? Click xxxxx to leave with neighbour or change day.

Both my orders are now visible on the UKMail webpage and I got a bit excited when i saw the option to pick up at the depot... But this is not possible until Monday... :D

Thanks, but I rather wait :D

Still no delivery update from Carphone Warehouse. Interestingly, their stock details for the 6S Plus have all been updated to show 'free next day delivery', whereas before they had differing availability dates. The 6S is still showing tomorrow's date across all models, so I'm still (naively) expecting it to arrive tomorrow.

Really odd that they'd issue despatch information to some pre-order customers and not others. I assume it's different distribution centres working in different ways.

I've recieved a conformation email about my in store reservation this morning starting to get a little excited now.
