... or buy from Three who don't lock their phones. If you're going to buy one from a third party I guess the best advice would be to get it on a contract - you're locked on that Network anyway. If you want SIM Free (truly SIM Free Unlocked that is) then go with Apple.
Yeah that happens. If you use syncreon tracking you will see it appear there nowMy tracking number and delivery number on Apple.com is now the same as each other, wasn't like that before?
Seems like you and me are the only ones getting UPS as their courierAnybody order from Apple and get UPS as their courier? Or is it just me?
Seems like you and me are the only ones getting UPS as their courier
Heard somebody got their apple watch 10am in the morning. here's hoping
My DPD tracking is working showing the following
We've received your order details, and we're expecting your parcel shortly
What URL are you using ? and which tracking/number are you using please mate ?
I'm using just the dpd.co.uk website and I entered the long number show as Tracking Number on my apple dispatched page.
Sorry, that's not factual.
The UK opted out of the EU 2 year warranty and we have the Sale of Goods Act.
The SoGA allows you to make a CLAIM (and that's all it is-a CLAIM) against the RETAILER you purchased the item from.
Under 6 months and any fault is legally assumed to have been there from day 1 and is therefore deemed to not be "Fit for Purpose" and not "Of Merchantable Quality" and you can expect a replacement.
Over 6 months old and you can legally expect a free repair (retailers are NOT legally obliged to replace).
Now, if you develop a fault after 12 months, then the onus is on [/i]YOU[/i] to PROVE the fault is premature and that the item has not lasted a reasonable amount of time.
To do this, you'd have to get an independent engineer's report to support your CLAIM (which you would have to pay for) and then log a claim In the courts (via the government website) to have your case heard by a judge.
Assuming the judge agrees with your claim that your premium £800 iPhone should not have died after 13 months, then you win the case, the retailer is liable and the judge assigns costs.
However, if the retailer were to win (let's say water damage is found), then you are liable.
I CANT STRESS THIS NEXT BIT ENOUGH...
You do not have a 2 year warranty on your iPhone.
UK law gives you a year (Statutary rights), plus the ability to make a CLAIM up to 6 years after you bought the item.
John Lewis give you 2 years. The 2nd year is IN ADDITION TO YOUR STATUTARY RIGHTS.
Apple give you 12 months warranty, as they obliged to by law.
Apple WILL NOT automatically replace a faulty device in months 13 to 24.
They may, (because you purchased it from them), but they are NOT legally obliged to.
I would hate to think that anyone in here thinks they've got a 2 year guarantee.
yep same hereMine now showing on UKMAIL as Booked/Awaiting Collection
The reason I just answered with a "no" was that your question was answered several times a couple of comments earlier. But yes, I get what you mean.Wow, I guess there's always one that has to spoil an otherwise fun thread.
Did you not have your Frosties this morning?
I re asked, because someone merely answered with "no", rather than explaining it was on the JL website.
I then fully ackknowledged the point and thanked the poster for taking the time to post the info.
Thanks, guess mine is still sat there waiting for a cuddle and a scan
