If your on EE then forget about getting your phone unlocked. It took me over 2 months and towards the end I had to really badger them. They do it to try and keep you locked into their network for another month or two. Worst network in so many ways.

Hence the reason EE locked phones get such a low price on trade in's. Envirofone offer much lower price for EE (and pf course Orange/T-MObile) locked phones. Most of the other networks are the same price as unlocked.

I got 4! Only reserved 1!

I went on Apple chat and they could really elaborate why but suggested calling the store direct to check. I can't really be bothered - will just see what happens in the morning!

Also the chat guy recommended backing up iPhone before upgrading to iOS 9.0.1. as someone suggested earlier teh 6s/6s+'s will be arriving with iOS 9.0..................... Seems little point in bothering to do it all all on old phone since I'll be sending off to Envirofone tomorrow.

Whats the official word on reservations for in store pick up? they start again on the 26th?

Most Apple deliveries appear to be getting scanned in and trackable now. All the phones will still be in Hinckley/Leicester with syncreon still until the courier collects. This usually happens later this evening so don't expect much change till tonight

DPD have just opened their new super-hub in Leicester, I'd be very very surprised if there are any delays tonight for them, most iPhones are being held there. Tonight will be a lot of pressure to make sure it doesn't flop!

Two hours spent on the phone trying to get some answers from both Carphone Warehouse and DPD. At this point i believe that anyone who has a tracking number for DPD and is showing its in Oldbury its a case of CPW haven't sent them onto DPD as of yet. DPD have no idea when this will take place and advise to contact CPW. I have someone who is trying to sort this out but I'm less than convinced that CPW will follow through with their promise to call me back.

Just phoned three to check that this will actually work, and I was told we can instantly unlock it for free. So I ordered a free SIM from here and will put that in as soon as it arrives, then hopefully unlock it and put my giffgaff SIM in!

True

If you are nice they would but if you go in all angry and abusive i bet they wouldn't.
Maybe, but it's not a legal right between months 13 & 24, which is what some posters have been saying.

We all have a 1 year warranty (excluding John Lewis customers) and the ability to claim against the retailer for up to 6 years.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Ive noticed Apple have just removed the tracking numbers starting with '3' and replaced them with the same delivery number

My dilemma now is whether I go with a spigen clear crystal plastic screen protector , or their slim glass one (4mm). I'm erring on the latter though the thickness could affect things....

(I have both)

I don't think it's instant, but if you're going to use your existing GG SIM, then I guess it doesn't really matter!

Be patient, you won't see movement until later tonight. CPW are holding them so they can make sure they arnt delivered early.

As someone who used to work at the Genius Bar, consumer law will apply to all products purchased from Apple Online or an Apple Store, but NOT from a carrier or third party retailer. I've swapped devices many times under consumer law provided the damage was not caused by user error (smashed screen, liquid damage, etc).

Other retailers, especially carriers, will do everything they can to not cover things under the consumer law -- at least in my experience

I can say that the Genius Bar is usually brilliant with out of warranty repair. The only time I've had issues was with an iPad that a bought from PC World. And because it was out of 1 yea warranty I had to get the retailer to replace it. Only ever but direct from Apple now!

Can we restore the backup via iCloud though? Or am I right in thinking it would be the same thing?

This. I'm running 9.1 beta on an iPhone 5. Can I restore from iCloud backup to the 6S running 9.0?

I did it on my iPhone 5 - it's easy, go to this page and scroll down to the "Download the final version of iOS" section:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203282

It puts you back to the latest non-beta version, and leaves all your settings and contents in place.

This is not good :( I was hoping that I could just restore from an iCloud backup! My 6+ is on 9.1 and I wanted to restore to my 6S+ on 9.0.1 looks like it won't be that easy!

atrevers, I don't see how that's possible without a backup? Could you explain it a bit more please? It sounds like an ideal solution! Just not sure how to do it...

Well yeah, I meant instant as opposed to O2's 'you have to have the phone for 6 months' bullsh*t haha
