Since I've moved from a Galaxy S4 with a higher screen resolution at 1080p to the 6s, I find the iPhone 6s display still very good. I don't even notice the smaller drop from 5 inch to 4.7 inch either.

anyone else added applecare +?

I am on the fence about whether to add it today when i go to an apple store....

at £79 it was a no brainer but at £109 I am questioning it a bit. I know an out of warranty repair is £256 so for that it makes sense, buts it the old "I havent needed it before" syndrome. However I work on building sites a lot so perhaps having the accidental damage is a good idea?

someone convince me to do it please!!

p.s. wow this threads has slowed to a crawl (predictably)

I did it over the phone yesterday & despite the price hike it's still worth it in my opinion. If you compare it to a carrier insurance over two years it's also much cheaper.

Yes, I ordered it the same time as I ordered my phone. At about a pound a week for two years insurance and an extra years warranty I think it is worth it for the peace of mind.

I have the same reasons for you to go against AppleCare+, You would have to break your screen more than twice to be out of pocket.

I guess we have another 59 days to change our mind and take out the plan.

I know it's unofficial but for me Barclays Tech Plan is a better deal for £9.50 a month because that protects against Loss & Theft.

Go to Apple support online and call or online chat them. They'll tell you if it's unlocked or not. Apple has a database.

(Alternatively use iphoneimei.info but that's often not accurate)

Just rang up Apple support and I can confirm that the iPhone 6 I bought from Dixons Travel at Heathrow Airport is indeed fully unlocked. I guess its different at airports as you have international travelers. Phew!

So anybody who buys from Dixons Travel at UK airports. You have an unlocked phone just like buying from apple!

So only me twiddling my thumbs then? It's at the depot 12 miles away but locked in their trailer till Monday by all accounts.

Meanwhile downstairs in a drawer I have a still sealed 6s plus in gold that Vodafone don't seem to want to take back... And it's calling to me....:(

Does anyone know of any third party stores selling official apple leather cases for the 6S+? Currys maybe? Im not near an Apple store and bought a silicone one which i want to return, don't really want to wait until the middle of next week for apple to deliver me a new one though....

Yeah I did it yesterday in store. I was a little hesitant about the price though. Ended up spending close to £900 including the apple care. I just had to close my eyes and do it. How can I spend £789 on a phone and then not insure it.

I get accidental damage, 2nd year warranty, theft and accidental loss all included in my O2 tariff. Unlimited accidental damage claims with £55 excess. Not sure how that compares to AC+

I have AC+ on my watch and Air 2

Is there an excess on the Barclays policy?

If not, that's £228 for 2 years.

But...

How long are you without it for repairs?

And are you ok invalidating the warranty on your brand new £700 phone?

So EE...

EE charged me an early upgrade fee (£320) but didn't take the payment for the 6s Plus, they simply charged me £6.98 for delivery and were supposed to charge me £109 for the handset but never did. My new bill has been produced and theres no sign of a handset charge applied, the early upgrade fee has been taken but my minimum contract term has not been extended thus my contract still expires in Sept 2016 instead of 2017.

Last year, they charged me an early upgrade fee, handset charge and extended my contract correctly however, they applied the early upgrade charge back to my bill as a credit but never took the early upgrade charge from my bill. I ended up with a £300 credit on my account for 3 months until I requested it to be refunded, which they did!

So, all in all, I sold my 6 Plus for £400 meaning i'm £80 up and have the 6s Plus 64GB at £35PM for 10GB data and fully unlit text/mins inc 0845/0870 numbers.

Not a bad little deal.

In addition, my Apple Care+ on from my 6 Plus is being transferred to my new 6s Plus for free and doesn't expire until 04 August 2017

£100 I believe, and every other phone I've had in the past soon gets its warranty broken.

Urgh,

Essentially, preorder in store with EE. iPhone 6S Plus Space Grey and an iPhone 6S Rose Gold. Got told in-store it was the Rose Gold that would be difficult to source on Launch day and the Plus would be fine. I was alright as the Rose Gold was for the other half (she was not impressed). Turned up yesterday, advisor explained they'd only had 6S's in and all colours available, even enough for walk ins. Heartbroken. Went round every phone store I could find, only got told the same thing regarding the Plus. No one will have any till mid-October, only flagship stores in London for Carriers were able to get stock blah blah blah.

Flashforward to this morning, got a phone call from the store, they've had 2 6S Plus in this morning and wondered if I'd be able to make it in today before 2.

I've already got my coat on :D

I really, really wish we could 3D Touch in Notification Center to clear all notifications like you can do on the watch. I really don't understand why Apple didn't use that implementation. It's such an intuitive thing, especially if you have an Apple Watch.

Budget reasons really and also I thought I would be fair to the Android by giving it a try, I had numerous problems with Software and also hardware (Cracked and replaced 3 times). Lack of software updates and 4 months ago my phone bricked and lost all contacts info on restoration. At that stage I decided I was going to buy the next (now current) iPhone.

And...

iCloud backed up my stored contacts from 2 years ago!!! Some numbers will be out of date but it's better than nothing and having to manually input the limited numbers stored on Galaxy S4.

Google couldn't back up contacts details even if you backed them up 5 minutes ago!!!

:D:D:D:D:D

It costs me £10 a year to add my iPhone to my home contents insurance. It covers accidental damage and loss. It might be slightly more inconvenient to deal with the paperwork this way, but a hell of a lot cheaper.

If you are with Natwest and on an Advantage Gold or Platinum account , you are covered automatically. However you can register your IMEI of the phone with them to make it easier if you need to claim . Excess is £75 and max 2 claims a year.

Ah cool, I hope you are very happy when you get your new iPhone! :)

I'm sat here using my iPhone 6, the 6s is packed up ready for return and now I've slept on it I'm asking myself of I've made the right decision to return the 6s!!!
It's ultimately up to you, if you feel that the 6 is good enough to use (Which I don't see why not) while you wait for the 7, then return the 6S. I mean, you do have 14 days to return as well, get to know it a bit more.

Have to say the battery life on the + is just insane... I fully charged it yesterday at about 5pm and have been using it quite a bit since then, 5 hours of usage according the battery monitoring thing and a good 18 hours standby. Still nearly 70% battery life left.

So I'm now in possession of a 6s as I reserved and picked one up this morning from Bromley. Still undecided about keeping the 6s+. The one handed use is bugging me. Given we've now also got that pseudo back button in the top left of the screen to jump back to the pervious app.. I can't reach it one handed without feeling the phone is going to drop out my hand.

On reserve and collect. I'm definitely doing this next year for the 7. So less stressful and easy to walk into store and grab what I need

I've charged mine over night and from 6am this morning I've been using it moderately as best. I do have Bluetooth on when I usually have it off and the 6s+ is down to 86% so far

Try double tapping home button to use "reach" feature?
