Will be my first ever new iPhone ever. Ive had them since the 3. Im on monthly sim only plan - so, Ive always usually gone for the previous years model second hand when I upgrade. Missed a few S versions, and have stuck on the 5 till now.

I'll be preordering - and I'd like to get myself a 128gb 6s plus. Id also like the Apple care + (Ive read this delays matters). I'm not hugely fussed to get a day 1 phone, however it would be nice obviously! Definitely would like to get in before there is delayed shipping imposed ;).

It would be nice to have preordered for a pick up, only to increase the 'excitement' of the event, by collecting the phone from Apple themselves. If I have read previous posts right - I can technically do this. However Im concerned about local store stocks, and I'm im Cornwall so its a 1.5 hr drive to my preferred nearest store (1hr to nearest).
On the other hand - I have ordered other products via apple and the postal delivery is very reliable.

Im probably going to have to see how things go. I can be patient... Mostly :)

Hi Guys,

Hope you're all well,
Quick question, I have a pristine iPhone6 64GB gold , bought my original phone from Apple Solihull September last year , they then swapped it in feb this year for replacement as battery developed fault , there's no marks etc on the phone , I'm thinking of going for the 6S+ , what should I be asking for my 6 as the price differs in different well know sites. Thanks guys

Instore advisor at Vodafone said it would be the 12th...

Hmmm i think he's guessing or making it up lol

Pre orders normally start on Friday after announcement, cant be saturday, plus following all the rumours they point to Friday 11th.

Few rumours have said pre order Friday 18th and release 25th but i guess we're less than 48 hours away from knowing the exactly.

I never trust retail staff. They know no more then we do. Besides the 12th is Saturday. Apple never puts up preorders on a Saturday. They always do them on a Friday so he is most likely wrong.

I'm hoping to pre order for pick up to. I'll be living only 5 minutes from the Plymouth store when it comes out as I'll be back at uni, don't really trust my accommodations office too much yet for handling parcel deliveries.

Pre order for pick up on launch day late morning would be perfect as I'm the best morning person.

Lol exactly, no one knows. I dont even think Apple staff know this kind of info untill after the announcement!! So how would Vodafone know!

A couple of things...

I seem to recall that adding things to your iPhone order can delay the phone arriving... So order your phone and get through checkout ASAP and then go back and order your case, AppleCare, whatever!

Also, from memory, there was an "Express Checkout" (or words to that effect) option, that effectively sped up your checkout process by storing your c/card details and all you need to enter is your 3 or 4 digit security code to complete the process.

I've just checked my account on the Apple website and can't see the option, am I missing something?

I think it has been removed, however on the Apple Store app it has been replaced with immediate payment via Apple Pay.
When I checked yesterday, after prompting me for iPhone options (colour, capacity etc) it didn't offer an 'add to basket' option and instead immediately wanted payment via Apple Pay or other credit/debit card.

Edit: Placed image in a spoiler, as it's huge. I haven't been on the forums recently - is there a way to make embedded images show up a bit smaller?

Excellent info, ta.

I'll be double checking my cards are all correct & up to date for Apple Pay the day before pre orders go live!

So I'm assuming if you opted for "other..." It would take you to debit/credit card already stored on your account? Debating whether to transfer credit onto my one and only card that supports Apple Pay.

If this rumour is to be believed (a leaked Vodafone memo), then it's pre orders on the 18th and release on the 25th.

I just tried it and it took me to a page that has my address and my Amex card details, with a tick box to say "I agree to the below terms".

I'm going to set my Amex card as my default Apple Pay card as I earn cashback on it.

So I enjoyed following this thread last year. Glad it is back again:)

Wasn't even thinking of getting the new iPhone. But found I can get £405 from enviro phone. Locked it in for 14 days. So I can wait and decide. If the price goes up then I will cancel my order and place another. Currently got iPhone 6 Plus 64GB.

Is there a way of letting your card company know you are going to make a purchase of around £700 so they won't block the payment for fraud? And having to reorder.

Don't they normally hold the payment, make contact with the account holder to verify then proceed with payment?
