Anyone else staying away from iOS 9 until they get their new phones?

If you look hard enough it's available on the Internet, and will be officially released next week. I'm not updating my 5S or iPad Air, I want that new OS and device feel when my 6S Plus gets delivered :D
I have to anyway, my Air 2 and iPhone 5 are jailbroken and I will not upgrade these devices until iOS 9 is jailbroken.

I have now cancelled my original order in the hope that the pick up in store thing actually works out. I had contacted the chat based support regarding quite a few questions today, and apart from one of them, they were all useless. I had problems with the online chat people before, but hoped things had changed. Unfortunately they are still not trained to do the job properly, not their fault, but they need training to help customers
Just don't arrive late. A minute later, then you're screwed if there is a queue waiting...

Anyone here thinking of upgrading their iPad Air to the Pro? Sorry but can't find a thread?
Try the iPad forum. ;)

This preorder worked out really well for me.

Last year we both ordered a 6, but were on holiday in Jamaica at the time, so had to set an alarm for something like 2.30am (Wife wasn't impressed!)

Thing was, we didn't get back until 2 days after launch day, so I had to wait to get home and rush over to my neighbours!

This year, my Wife's is down for release day delivery and mine is down for an 8.30 in store pickup on launch day.

Happy days!

I am never late, and I have strong elbows ;-) The Apple store is only a 15 minute walk away, so that will be ok. Should there be problems, I will chain myself to one of the tables until I get my iPhone :)
Talking of the tables in Apple Stores, don't they look rubbish since they removed the iPads? The iPhone tables in particular look messy now, Angela is somehow not the right person.

I bet that even when you can track from China they're still distributed 'in bulk'.

E.g. Pallet X has so many hundred people's phones in and there will be so many hundred tracking numbers attached to that pallet, they arrive in the UK and then are individually boxed, labelled and shipped.

Yea and come to think of it I bet warehouse space is a hell of a lot cheaper in China than here in the UK so that must come into play. And I remember last year some of us had our estimated delivery date delayed then once our phones hit Germany one by one we saw departure scans, so we can only assume that was the point where the pallet was broken up maybe. Logistics is very interesting stuff

Make sure you tell me what Apple Store this is so I can video you on my new plus :p

Sorry for the late reply, but I was just getting my chains ready to attach myself to the furniture of the Bristol Store.
Little edit to my post: I will actually do that, that might be the first ' Apple Fanboy chaining himself in store' incident. I could sell that story to a local paper for a new foldable plug.

i wonder why its a 2 week wait this time, I'm sure last year it was only a week after per orders that the phone came out! another 7 days is tot much wait time!

Do you think they will include these new plugs? They are swishy.

Do they honour store reservations? If you reserved and got your email , they have to keep the phone for you as long as you arrive on time, right?
I just cancelled my pre-order , I have a reservation now in store.

I just got this email.

First time ordering a iPhone from Apple so not sure if genuine or not. I got iP6+ 124gb space grey.

It has my order number on it so not sure.

Fake or genuine?

I had to pay an up front cost of £159 for the phone to upgrade to a new tarrif and the money has already been taken from my account - That was fast!

It seems to be a legit number.

Have you done anything obvious that could cause issues? E.g.
  • Try to ship overseas,
  • Have a payment issue,
  • Try to order more than two with one Apple ID?

Nope posting UK address.
Only 1 iPhone
Maybe a payment issue as didn't tell the bank before hand so that could be the issue.

I try giving that number a ring tomo see what the problem is.

Thanks

Same here, although it would be good to have a look at iOS9, but the combo of new hardware and new software will be worth the wait :)

I have 2 iPhones and 2 iPads (mine and the better halfs) but will update them all after I get the 6S. I restore them all and update with the .ipsw files from Apple too. I like fresh installs :)

Damn you... Why did you have to plant that seed? You're so right, but I'm so impatient! Arghhh, I want to wait now, but it will kill me!

I have a Mac Mini and was tempted to update that to El Capitan to keep me busy, would be a fresh install from USB so would be more work than a normal update. Problem is it's only a GM release candidate so there may be another update before it ships, don't want to have to do it multiple times.

I have to anyway, my Air 2 and iPhone 5 are jailbroken and I will not upgrade these devices until iOS 9 is jailbroken.

I did jailbreak my 4S a few years back but found even just a few simple tweaks caused the device to become unstable and slower so haven't bothered since.
