Do I need to pay to unlock? Must I do this through o2?

I am not familiar with O2 in this matter. Usually it takes up to 30 days at least and you may have to stay with the carrier for a minimum period. There is also often a charge for this service. EE was £21 for my 5S and took 30 days.

Yes O2 will unlock your phone for free no probs but normally they dont offer unlocking for about 6 months, ive heard once you pay the full refresh plan basically pay phone off they will unlock or offer it to all after 6 months
Perfect thaanks, I have paid it off ;)

Did you buy it from CPW with an O2 contract? It looks like they don't charge, from looking at their website.

"Unlocking an O2 iPhone and using it on a different network
Pay Monthly and Pay & Go customers

If you're a Pay Monthly customer, then you can unlock your iPhone at any time, for free. This doesn't affect your contract though – you'll still need to see out the rest of it. This policy may vary depending on your phone.

To unlock your phone, just fill out this unlocking form and we'll do the rest.

Make sure you enter the mobile number that you bought the phone with, to avoid being charged.

Once we've got your form, it'll take up to 72 hours for us unlock it. Once it's unlocked, we'll text you to let you know. You can then put a non-O2 sim into the iPhone and connect it to iTunes. iTunes will then tell you the phone is unlocked."

I don't think that is correct.

I believe ALL phones from CPW are unlocked and stay unlocked. This is based on what they say and my experiences with them.
Worst thing is I don't have another network SIM to try!!
And yes I've heard various things too... :S

Thanks and yes CPW on o2 contract

My experience with cpw was that it locked to the first sim I put in. Cpw did confirm this and I had to get it unlocked through Vodafone at the time. This was a few years ago now with my iPhone 5

I'm starting to doubt my pre-order and I've never felt like this before. I'm struggling to get excited about the new iPhone because it just feels...the same. With an iPhone 6 Plus, I don't know whether I would be better suited to just wait it out for the iPhone 7 at this point. But it's about whether I could cope with not having the latest and greatest. :p
Personally, I prefer upgrading every other year as it feels like a more significant upgrade and I get that buzz of excitement. In the non-upgrade years though, it is incredibly hard not to be tempted in!

If O2 are anything like EE. They charge £9.99 to unlock an iPhone, take about 10 days. After 6 months of your contact.

I bought my 5s from CPW and it developed a problem. Took it back to Apple who replaced it with a new one but they locked it to Vodafone. As previously stated if you buy from CPW the phone locks to the first sim you insert.

I just cancelled my order. I just can't justify it. My iPhone 6 Plus is doing just great. The benefits do not outweigh the cost.

Vodafone also unlock for free if you've been with them for more than 12 months, under 12 months its £19.99.

Had my iPhone 6 unlocked by Vodafone and it took them 2 days ( they quote up to 10 days) i checked t myself everyday and on second day it accepted another sim. Couple days after that Vodafone emailed me to say my phone has been unlocked.

Moral of story: unlock is quicker but the network may take time to let you know so once you submit your request have a sim handy and check each day.

Since Vodafone messed up i ordered directly from Apple , not it shows me 3-4 weeks delivery however is there any chance that this could potentially change to an earlier date ? Also one more question its not letting me pick up from a store but have it delivered , will that be an option at a later date ? I don't mind waiting its just that it will help if it speeds up the process.

There's always the chance. Last year I missed the delivery day slot for the 6+ and got the estimated 6-9 days. It turned up 3 days after release day

Stock update:

Had a little look at the stock on Apple site.

6S is available online on plenty in stores.

6+S 16GB available in some stores.

6S+ in 64GB and 128GB is sold out everywhere online and in stores!!

Looks like those trying a 6S+ for first time if you feel it is too big or not for you then no problem getting a 6S in any colour except rose gold!
How do you check specific store stock online ?

Pick your model on the pre order page and click 'Reserve to buy inshore' instead of 'Add to Bag'.

Example: http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/buy-iphone/iphone6s/5.5-inch-display-64gb-space-grey
Goes to: https://reserve.cdn-apple.com/GB/en...one/iphone6s/5.5-inch-display-64gb-space-grey

But the linked example is unavailable since the Plus is in short supply.

Yeah i tried that to begin with and did not allow me to do it so i ended up buying it. I am hoping that i get my phone sooner than the 9th of October lol

do you guys think we'll see the upgrade programme soon here in the UK? I still have a year with Three, but I'm even willing to pay early termination in about 6 months or so. I just don't want to be tight to any network ever again.

If your phone is going to be delivered then that's the only option. You can't pick up from a store a phone that is supposed to be delivered. However you can try to reserve one for pick up if you can find the model you want in the store you want to reserve and pick up from. Phones ordered online can only be delivered.

Thanks for the info , it allows me to reserve the 6s+ but only from 26th onwards..
