Trying to evaluate the value of Apple care plus -

Out of warranty ypical repair costs

A screen replacement cost from Apple on a 6S plus is £126.44

Battery Service on all iPhone models is £59

Replacement unit £256.44 - Apple IPhone 6S Plus.

err... no! This would be ideal for me, can you post a link?

BTW: EE advertise prices without VAT, so this'll probably be £15 inclusive.

I read about this earlier on in the thread, and if I recall correctly Customer support wouldn't even offer that straight away, but you'd get a call back...
Vague, I know, I just wrote down the values and can't remember who mentioned it!!

Had to go a few (...) pages back, but found it!!

If you are with ee and at the end of your sim only contract you might be able to get

2000 mins
unlimited texts
5GB 4G for £11.99 (12 months contract)

They wont offer it to you straight away, someone from Retention's (UK) will give you a call back and offer you this. There was a thread on the HotUKdeals website that i followed to get this deal.

I'm still on unlimited data for £12/month from Three, something which now costs £22/month. I've never got to lose this SIM...

But you'll be wishing you had it to get an on the spot replacement of something happens though right?

It's a gamble like any insurance.

Me, I like to be safe in the knowledge that I smash/submerge my phone, I can get an in the spot replacement.

If people are happy to pay less and wait a week or more to get theirs repaired/replaced, then that's cool too.

The other thing that I don't like/want is my phone going away for repair if I did something to it and it coming back repaired by a non Apple repairer and I then have a genuine warranty issue that Apple won't honour because it's been opened up and has had non Apple parts fitted.

That to me is not worth the risk of not buying Applecare.

Just my 0.02p worth.

Quick Question about AC+

Normally to get an appointment at the Genius bar you have to book online and have to wait a week?

So if i dropped my phone in bath, therefore would i need to book a genius bar appointment which is about a week and be without a phone?
Thats not on the spot replacement i have to wait for my appointment??

Time to renew my sim only contract with EE, and the best I recall seeing in previous pages was:

2000 min
Unlimited texts
5 Gb
£11.99 (12 month contract)

Anyone managed to get a better deal than this?
Thanks in advance.
Three offer unlimited data for £20 a month with 5000 texts and 2,000 mins

That a good deal atleast EE give out deals. Three on the other hand don't even care.

Thanks for that.

I've ordered my 6s directly from Apple & I'll be going sim only. My EE contract expires 25th October, so I'll notify them of cancellation anytime now. :)

I wanted to stick with EE because according to the Apple website, they're the only provider that fully supports WiFi Calling natively ...and their network coverage\speed suits my needs.

It's nice to have some info handy as to what to reasonably expect when I drop the bomb.

FYI: Link to the Apple page of providers' supported features ->https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204040 ...scroll down to UK

Had look at the thread on hotukdeals, and it seems that specific tariff is only rarely offered, and only if you request a PAC code threatening to leave...

I wonder if Apple log the number of times we hit refresh on the orders page?! I know nothing's going to move until next Wednesday (roughly) but I can't stop clicking! I'm waiting on cases and docks also so have a slight reason to check but still ... :D:apple::D

AC only gives you a replacement for damage but carrier or other insurance often also covers theft or loss.

Just been checking out eBay. Loads of people trying to sell their pre-order for more than retail with zero bids. Most models are still available to pickup even though the delivered option have sold out.

EE are good but they simply don't offer enough data.

I need unlimited just in case.
I currently have a 10GB contract, but I've only ever come close to using that once in 2 years and that's when I was using personal hotspot and testing the limits of what I could do! I'm usually well under 4, so it makes sense for me to downsize.

Does anybody know if the official Apple leather cases for the iPhone 6 Plus fit the iPhone 6S Plus? This is last years cases not these years.

I've ordered a new one. If my old one fits I'll just return the new one.

Just got my new case delivered :)

You don't have to have an appointment. You can pop into the Apple store or I believe a authorised Apple place. But if you go without an appointment you could be waiting a very long time to be seen.

Mind letting me know how you get on with? Am considering one myself. Cheers.

Will do. Its a midnight blue silicone one. I had leather last time but got a bit bored of it. Feels quite nice in the hand i must say. Gives me a sense of how big the plus will be!
