Reserved my phone for release day on Saturday and got an email.

Is it safe to cancel my delivery order even though there's nothing on my apple store account page about a reservation?

It's safe as that what I've done. Ordered and then noticed the pickup option.

You just go along at least 15 minutes before your pickup time. Join the reservations queue and a blue shirt will ask your name to check you in. They will then take you into the store and confirm who you are before getting your reserved unit from the back.

You pay there.

I am thinking of moving from Vodafone to EE - but as I travel a lot the £3 a day Euro Passport and £5 a day World Passport - to allow me to use my "at home" call and data package is very useful - I've had a look but can't see if EE do anything similar ?? Anyone know??

No idea about EE I'm afraid but Three do free roaming to 20 countries now, so, depending on where you travel, it could be worth a look? It was great at Easter to go to the U.S. and just use data like here! Saved a lot of stress and cash!!

To all those who helped me with the unlocking issue here is the bottom line confirmed by CPW:
"All handsets are unlocked to the networks. Except for Apple handsets which lock to the network of the first sim card inserted."

EE had something similar a while back on one of their tariffs but AFAIK it's long since been pulled.

Don't quote me though.

I'm a little disappointed when people buy / reserve so many phones only ever intending to keep one. In my mind, it's unnecessary greed. I don't want this to turn nasty, so I hope you're not offended...

It's just... by sucking up those 3 other handsets, you and others who do the same are potentially preventing someone else from getting the device they want and maybe having to settle for a different colour / capacity... it just doesn't seem right.

That said, I hope you manage to figure out which device to keep.. and I hope it all works out :)

Well, I'm not actually going to get all 4, that would be silly. I think I'm going to just abandon the store reservations (which I would cancel if they would let me, but they'll reallocate the units to store stock as soon as I don't turn up for my appointment, so that's 2 more for other folk to buy!)

So I'll only have two, and the 64GB Space Grey 6s is still available to pre-order for launch day, so I'm not really depriving anyone of anything if I keep the 6s+ :)

I take your point though, but I think the worst offenders are the people who buy as many as they can, to scalp them on eBay. I really dislike that, and would never do it. My intention is to love the 6s+ and return the 6s very quickly to Apple without even having opened its box, so it can be immediately re-sold :)

Edit: and if the 6s continues to remain completely in-stock, I may well cancel my pre-order for that, on the basis that I can just go and buy one if I decide I need to return the 6s+.

That's my plan. I'll stick with the 6s+ preorder and if inside the first two weeks I can't get use to it I'll return and hopefully be able to pick up a 6s in store. Signs point to there being stock around.

I was able to pick up a 6 in store inside the first week of release by just walking in with no queues

EE does have a Euro Pass which is £4 a day for unlimited texts and calls and limited data. I can't remember how much data is included. I used it last month when I was in Germany. I don't know if they have a world pass.

I got an email from Envirophone today. One of the options was to extend my quote offer by seven days and I had used the code to get 5% extra. They have extended it to the 29th which is great as it means as long as I get my 6s Plus on the 25th I don't have to send my 6 Plus until I have the new one.

To be honest with you.. on one hand I understand your frustration and indecision.. it took a bit of time for me to figure out which size to go for (having had a 6.. i figure the jump to 6s+ is less than a straight jump from 5s to 6+ last year.. anyway, i digress)....

The practice also skews sales figures for the first weekend.

With tech sites reporting that Apple expects to top the iPhone 6 first weekend sales of 10 million, it seems to me that maybe 25% of those sales are not actual "sales", and will be returned by those that ordered more than they intend to keep or sell on.

I don't understand why those that aren't sure, can't walk into an Apple (or 3rd party providers') store and try one on for size - that's what I'd do if I weren't certain. In this instance you don't even need to try the S(+) model, as the 6(+) is almost identical anyway. I think there's another reason behind why these people do it - possibly bragging rights? or helping to massage sales figures because they want to "stick it" to Samsung owners? whatever... I think it's wrong, and I'm not afraid to put a few noses out of joint by voicing an opinion.

Hi guys ,

Just out of curiosity what is the delivery date that is given as an estimate for your pre order ? And did you roughly place it through apple ?

Mines showing 9th October - 16th. Fingers crossed it's sooner ! :D

Did my O2 preorder in store this afternoon after work. Apparently I bagged the last 6S 128gb space grey for release day! Depending on what time I start work on the 25th, I might mosey on down in the morning. Otherwise it will have to wait until my lunch break.

Something that slightly annoyed me though was the £50 deposit. There wasn't a deposit last year, and the dude on webchat last week said there would be no deposit this year either. So don't know what that's all about. Its only a deposit, so I get it back regardless, it just threw me a bit.

Something REALLY annoying though, is that I can't keep my current tariff. Which means my bill will go up by £8 per month. Stupid that O2 have scrapped their 2gb tariffs but kept the 1gb :-/

Quick update on EE tariff (renewal of 12 monthly SIM only contract):
First call to customer support and got offered £20.99 4Gb Unlimited Minutes and Texts, which I immediately rejected and quoted a few of the other networks prices.
Was then transferred to Retentions, who offered £16.99 4Gb Unlimited Minutes and Texts.
Didn't go as far as requesting a PAC code (which might have prompted a better offer?), but said I needed some time to think about it...
Will this be as good as it gets?

I have done that, several times. It's not the same as using the thing all day every day, seeing how it fits in the various trouser pockets it'll need to go into, seeing if it's still comfy to hold and type on when I'm in bed, etc, etc.

I think it's wrong, and I'm not afraid to put a few noses out of joint by voicing an opinion.

I'm fine with you thinking that, I didn't ask for your approval :)

EE is shocking for roaming. 4 quid a day and you only get 50mb.

O2 is £1.99 a day and you get unlimited usage.

If I were to change networks is only consider three as they now have quite a few countries with free roaming.
