Is there a way to tell (perhaps an app, for example) what 4G frequency your iPhone has connected to? I know Three UK operate 4G on two frequencies, and I'm trying to understand when/if I'm connecting to one or the other (intermittently)...

Yes. Kindof. You can check if volte is in effect. Three only does this on 800. Go to settings/about and click on the carrier line. The text on the rhs will change top something like ims status voice and data. Can't check now. If static you're not using volte...

Can not see the link you are referring to.
No such thing as Settings/about.
If you mean Settings/General/about ~ the carrier just says the version number (Three 25.1) and this is non clickable.

Yes under general. If on volte that display changes with a click. After lots of network searching off/on I managed to connect to 800 (though my area doesn't require it so didn't stay long). So 800 does work but iv suspect there are some issues with thresholds/networks

Just to add my two pence worth here. I'm a fully paid up member of the Apple Developer Program (so not some iPhone beginner). Previously I was using iPhone 6s Plus on Three UK without issue.

iPhone 7 plus, delivered on launch day, seemed to demonstrate the 4G issue from the box.

I'm now on iOS 10.1 developer beta 1 and carrier profile Three 25.5 as everyone else. Three's twitter profile indicates they are aware of the issue and are working with Apple to fix it.

In the manual network selection I'm frequently seeing 3 listed twice which I've never seen with any other network on any other phone since 1995! Sometimes if you try and access one of the other 3 options then go back I get 4G to work for a while but as I don't have time to sit and look at iPhone continuously I don't know how long it lasts until it drops back to 3G again.

But defo a major annoyance

Also on 10.1 b1 and I see two entries for 3. Sometimes I see I'm connected to 3 UK with full bars and 4G but as soon as I try to use it, it leaps to No Service.

I presume you mean under settings - mobile data - mobile data options - enable 4G.

There you can select off, voice and data or data only. But if memory serves that option was there long before Three launched 4G Super Voice (VoLTE).

I forced mine to switch to the second 3 listed network which did nothing apart from "no service". When I then went back to the first 3 one it connected quickly to 3G then a few seconds later to 4G where it's been for the last 45 mins or so since I did it.

Yep and after a random amount of time the 4G will disappear.

I wonder what effect this network issue is having on the battery, my 7 plus battery is no better than the 6S plus and I was hoping for that extra hour.

Depends whether the iPhone is attempting to lock on to 4G but keeps getting knocked back or whether it can't be arsed and doesn't even try. That will determine the battery impact.

If you're on either a developer or public beta don't expect to see that extra hour battery. Betas are often put out with better performance options than battery saving options so that stability testing can be done at a higher level.
[doublepost=1475242235][/doublepost]Just had this on Three's twitter account:-

"Hi there, we're now investigating this as a known issue. We don't have a fix time in place at the moment as we're still working with Apple in order to resolve this. Rest assured we'll update you as soon as we know more. In the meantime, please restart your phone as this should help you connect >KW"

Having to turn off and on again is a real pain. So far I find manually forcing a different network and then returning back to 3 allows 4G to be accessed. I've been on 4G for about 90 mins now since last doing this.

Yes the network switching seems to be having a detrimental effect on battery life. My 7 Plus was down to 50% by 11am after coming off charge at 6:10am. Mind, that was with some internet use and podcast listening over the speakers.

Today Friday 30th Oct 2016 I have visited Apple store in Stratford London and spoken to Apple staff, they are apparently not aware of the issue and have advised me the best way to raise the issue is via: http://www.apple.com/feedback ; which I have done few minutes ago. Suggest you do the same, to add more weight to the issue, as the more people report the same problem, the more likely it is investigated and given priority.

Fairly what I read it's a 3 issue not an Apple (iPhone or iOS) issue.

I had this issue initially but since Wednesday mine hasn't gone off 4G once.....I came on here to see if everyone else's had fixed.....strange.

Apple are aware, I spoke to AppleCare a few days ago and they searched their internal cases and read back to me the case they found, and it is being worked on.

That said, it's still a good idea to let Apple know. The more people that flag it, the more they can understand the impact of the issue.

The feedback link is one way, and going through AppleCare or support is another way (and might get routed a bit quicker).

It's the

network team I spoke to .. they said .. we are not aware of any such issues .. I need to speak to apple, may be fault with the phone ..

The network team have confirmed it to me and others. They are aware of it, so the person you spoke to was fobbing you off.

I've seen 2 lots of Three in a few places over thru years, usually one has (3G) in brackets. Didn't Three share or lease towers from another network for a while a few years back? Assumed it was leftovers of that.

Apple are aware, as Three confirmed they are liaising with Apple as a priority. Store staff probably won't be aware tho, so that's to be expected.

I've given up - returned my phone within the 14 days and gone back to EE. Just two or three experiences of Three's call centres reminded me why I left them a couple of years back.

Nope. All good here.

When connected it's good, the problem is staying connected.

How come some of you are getting such incredible speeds on 4g? I get about 40mbps at my home and work.
Speed totally depends on signal strength. How congested your area is. How good the actual tower is. One moment I can can get 100 and the next it will drop to 10.

I have issues with network connectivity on my O2 iPhone 7S - huge issues - not connecting / connecting hanging / slow - O2 v25.0 IOS 10.0.2. Sometimes switch to airplane mode and back fixes it - other times it does not. (Bought from Apple direct)
