Am I missing something here? Are you on the beta update or was there an official update released to the public? Thanks

Carrier profile Three 26.0 seems limited to iOS 10.1 beta 2. So currently not generally available to the public.

I'm having very similar issues on my 7 Plus connecting to EE 4G.

Colleague is sat next to me with an iPhone 6s on EE with 4G, I however am only getting 3G...
He's on 10.0.2, i'm on 10.1beta 2 with carrier profile EE 26.0

Hi all, thank you very much for the information received so far, i have also been watching this post increasing with upset people.
I had an iPhone 6 which has worked flawlessly on 4G, only when i went to the 7 plus did i get the issue.
Unfortunately the wife decided she wanted to finally have a smartphone and i donated this to her (also on a 3 contract).
Her new sim went straight in and straight to 4G and is still there after a week!!!!
I have had on and off success with the 7 and appreciate that this is a 3/apple issue, but i thought i would give a little success that i had.
I set the 4G to data only and restarted. it came back with 4G but every time the phone rang it instantly changed to 3G.
From then on it was hit and miss, sometimes after the call finished it changed back to 4G other times it took a couple of hours but seemed to work.
I wonder if you problem is related to using voice over LTE or VOLTE. There is a setting on the phone to prevent this feature. The fact that your phone switches to 3G immediately you get a call could be an indicator that the phone is set to VOLTE and the network is not supporting it.

If you install 10.1 beta 2, when the stable release of 10.1 comes out can you switch to it without losing data?

Yes. If the build number of the publicly release software is later than the beta versions your iPhone will update exactly the same as it does now.

And then you would just unenroll from the beta so that you don't get future betas?

Sooner they fix the 4G issues the better when I do get 4G speeds are brilliant

I don't believe that to be the case. Certainly for the Three UK network it has been confirmed to me directly by Three that in standby your phone will always try and connect to 4G for data purposes. But upon receipt or dialling our a voice call your phone will always switch to 3G if there is one available. You will only get to use VoLTE (branded as 4G Super Voice by Three) if your phone can't find a 3G signal.

I find this surprising personally as a poster above pointed out, until this policy is changed, you may never get to use VoLTE which brings with it quicker connection times and better call quality. For now, Three want to use VoLTE to increase signal penetration and get signal to areas previously not having any at all. The frequencies VoLTE operates on can penetrate buildings better for example.

If that's what you wanted to do yes.

Do remember that even the public beta software is not intended by Apple to be used on a main device. Being beta it's not necessarily perfect and may still contains bugs. App developers won't update their apps to any new code until Apple are close to releasing it as final. Just a word of caution for you.

26Mbps down and 9Mbps up on 4G here in central Lancashire.

Sounds like it is going in the right direction. I was informed by 3 that i have the VoLTE enabled in my area and have never noticed the change to 3G when the phone rings so i cannot confirm if this has always happened. I do not want to upgrade my device to beta as i am going to rely heavily on it in the next 4 weeks so i do not want the risk of it crashing. Heres to 3 updating the profile on the existing platform as well, otherwise i guess i will have to wait for the official release. I am switching between 3 & 4G throughout the day so still not stable on 25.1.

If your phone is on 4G make a quick call to your home number or somewhere else. Immediately the dial begins if it's going to switch back down to 3G it will. If it stays on 4G then you're in an area where 3G coverage is poor and your using VoLTE.

Probably not going to go to VoLTE as i have a very strong 3G signal (all dots lit) when it does go to 4G i get 4 dots so not bad when it is working.

Just did your test and my phone goes to 3G when I call. Never noticed that.

Thanks for all the feedback I know we all have busy lives but can we keep it coming. Three working on a mast in my area as we speak. Currently I only get 4g outside

4G maintained today UNTIL...

I travelled to my parents house and that involves a lift and a few seconds of no signal at all. When I got out and for some time after I had no data signal at all...plenty of bars just no data at all. I turned 4G off and on again and all back normal again.

Never experienced complete loss of data connection there before.

It's not fixed. I'm on 10.1 beta 2 with the three 26.0, and I lost 4g at work today few times
