Looking much better on 10.1 for me as well. (iPhone 7).

Holds 4G at home, which it wasn't doing previously.

Also have seen it switch between 3G and 4G all by itself while traveling to and from work today, which it definitely wasn't doing before.

Fingers crossed! :)

So the general consensus is its fixed ?
No definitely not. It is a lot better than it was, and connects to the supervoice network fine, but mine frequently gets stuck on 3G still, usually after I have come out of a area with no signal. It is fixed much easier, i.e. Quickly toggling airplane mode forces reconnection, but the most frustrating thing is it is a lot worse than the beta 3 version.

Yep - I'm experiencing the same symptoms too.

Mine still not fixed either. Mine moves to and from 4G sometimes but frequently shows full 3G yet no one can call me as it goes straight to voicemail

Seems like a lot of varied reports. I'm going to try an iPhone 7 again this one coming from Argos rather than apple direct don't know if that will make any difference but will update when I get it on Thursday

Dear Guys, I am totally new to this forum. I have set an account up to share my experiences with you as I am experiencing similair issues with 4g on my iphone7 on the 3 network. I bought device from John Lewis, everything seemed quite ok till I noticed 3g was not going back to 4g, and the only way to do so was by turning the phone off and on. I have also had very slow speed connections on 4g. Today after having downloaded the new 10.1 - 4g has been amazingly slow - the worst i have had since purchasing this device- even though i were connected to 4g in areas that previously was not, it has been incredibly slow. Opening a website such as the bbc took up to three minutes - other websites at times did not even open (having checked speedtest download was 1.5mb while upload 0.2). I have spoken to 3, they have said this is an issue they are trying to fix and offered to not charge me on my next bill date. About 6 hours ago, I disabled 4g and have been sitting here on 3g as its working so much better than 4g. I hope and wish 3 all the best in fixing this issue asap. Before 10.1 my 4g was intermitent but it was a lot lot quicker than what I experienced today after installing 10.1

Same here too.

Same for me too , had to toggle airplane mode twice today. I move about a lot as I'm a train driver , toggling airplane mode is a pain as I have to take I watch out of airplane mode after

3 are calling me back tomorrow as they were monitoring a mast that I connect to while at my work base , they logged the 4g connectivity as a separate issue. Will be telling them it's still not 100%

I have the same problem. Updating it with iOS10.1 is not helping at all.

----------

[Update: This issue appears to have been fixed in iOS 10.1 Beta 2 as carrier settings have been updated to Three 26.0. My iPhone 7 Plus now appears to be defaulting back to 4G when it should, as was expected and experienced on the 6S Plus - however some people still reporting issues even after this update]

Ok,

So I had all the past iPhones and ever since I was able to get 4G, my phone would always pick it up at least while I was at home, anywhere in the house or while at work, wherever I was in the building.

My last phone was a 6S Plus which I had since launch and likewise, no issues whatsoever.

My new iPhone 7 Plus however, I have only for the briestfest of moments seen it on 4G. The rest of the time, it is solidly stuck on 3G.

Things I have tried:

Go to settings and then "about" and waited a good 5 minutes and I can confirm I have the latest carrier settings.

I have reset network settings, phone has rebooted and still on 3G.

I have confirmed 4G is enabled in the settings under carrier for voice and data. I have also switched it to just data and waited - still only 3G.

I have restored the phone and re-loaded my backup - still on 3G.

I have restored the phone and set it up as blank/new phone - still on 3G.

I have this morning gone to the carrier and swapped out a sim for another - still on 3G.

*Now none of these worked*

Anyone else with a 7/Plus having issues?

My network here in the U.K. is "3".

Either something weird is happening with the new phones or I guess my phone needs changing, which is weird because if its connecting to data and also to 3G - why wouldn't 4G work

Any ideas?

So yesterday I found 10.1 really helped. However the previous build that helped 10.0.0.3 benefits seemed to only last 24 hours. So will see what happens today when I head out.

I'm still good this morning. 3 bars of 4G in the toilet is making me happy, especially since my home broadband is currently u/s.

I can't decide whether I should stay on 10.1 public beta 3 or upgrade to the public release of 10.1!

I seem to be fixed but I also reset my network settings after the update to make sure all was clean. You don't loose any data but you will need to setup any wifi connections again.

10.1 public final has been okay for me on 7+ I am dropping to 3G more at home than I was with the 6s+ I think. But it reconnects to 4G after a few minutes if it's available.

Well that lasted long.... stuck on 3G since I got home. I was hopeful for 10.1 and seemed to be okay since installing. Guess it's still not 100%

Toggled airplane mode and I'm back to 4G. Still not happy though.

Has anyone had confirmation that they are still working on the problem after the release of 10.1 or do Apple and three think it is fixed now?

Updated to iOS 10.1 last night and so far, so good. I temporarily lost all data once but a quick toggle of airplane mode sorted it. Whether it's a permanent fix for my iPhone, it's at least not a concern anymore.

So mines been fine - I've been out today and switched between 3G and 4G. Sometimes it looked like it might take 10 minutes but then jumped back to 4G. Othertimes it was a lot faster. So it seems a lot better, but not 100%

Beta 5/10.1 release has brought new issues for me. Yesterday I had good signal and was switching between 4G/3G but nothing would load forcing a full restart.

Today, I get home full signal (3G) when my wife got home she asked why I didn't answer when she called - 4 times. Apparently they all went to voicemail, turning airplane mode on/off fixed it.

Beta 4 was solid for me, this seems like a step back.

Had issues since I got my iPhone 7 back on 16 September. Having to reset my settings at least 3-4 times a day. Updated to iOS 10.1 2 days ago, had no problems since switching between 3G and 4G as expected the same as my iPhone 6 always did.

One weird thing I've noticed with o2 using iOS 10.1.

Some times at work it'll be 3G, other times it'll stay on 4G.

Was on 3G in the early hours of this morning. Made a quick phone call and reverted back to 4G.
