My order just jumped to Processing Items!
Edit: nvm, I just realised it was already processing items. This is how over keen I am for this iPad.

My friend who has ordered a white 16gb wifi only and stays in ayrshire too has just received email of the delay, same one as me by the sounds of it.

Dispatched: March 16-19

Mine has always said this .... even though when I placed the order at about 0400 on 8th March the website said "Delivery On 16th March"

Not sure how they're working this as it would seem odd to tell people 'Delivery on 16th March' and then change their mind .... wouldn't it?!

I hope they stick to what they promise

Did anyone who ordered a wifi+4G 64GB early (say by midnight 7 march) get the email yet? Delays seem to be affecting more popular models so far...

Is it only the wifi models that are getting delay emails? I haven't read of anyone with 4G models getting delay emails (yet!)

I ordered within seconds of the store opening on the 7th March - 64GB white with 4G (so hopefully not one of the most popular models!)

I think a couple said their 64GB + WIFI/4G said theirs were delayed, and the rest have been 16GB white's iirc.

Both of those models are the most popular. The 64GB in particular was the first to drop to "Ships: 18th March".

Until more confirmations are confirmed, it could easily be a general delay. Although if I'm honest I dont understand why, especially considering most of the US models say delivery on the 16th.

I'm 99% sure the 32Gb & 64GB wifi models were the first to have the shipping dates slip, I was watching it like a hawk! :)

Haven't seen as many people order the 64GB 4G model as opposed to others...

I think whatever model, one needed to have ordered really soon to stand a chance of not being delayed. I happened to be able to conduct a completely error-free transaction minutes after the UK store came fully back on 7 March evening. Less than 15 mins later people were complaining of Oops messages and assorted errors, so we are all in for massive over-demand from the word go. Still no news of any email on my side...

No email yet, finally ordered mine about 00:30, 16Gb Black. Hopefully few people went for that model. But then probably the whole of the UK is going to be pushed back :/

I got an email from Apple to say my delivery date is now 20th March!!!

Ordered black, 32GB, wifi! What an absolute joke! I am extremely angry. I ordered mine at about 4am on 8th March!

my thoughts too, they are probably pushing the whole of UK back and the rmails will take some hours to get through because of the sheer number of pre-orders...

Well numbers are numbers and if they can't handle preorders they shouldn't have bothered setting up the system for it.

There is no way all the preorders were used up by 4am.

Not sure its a numbers issue. I suspect its a delivery issue.

I ordered mine at 1150pm on the 7th and got confirmation email 30 mins later.

Still my order has been pushed till the 21st.

Be interesting to see what stock they have in store next friday though

There is quite a high chance actually, considering they had been available for about 5 hours off and on

ummmm, it seems as though the large stock and somewhat unique availability on this product was actually not as it seems. I did think it was very very odd that availablity was still 100% on all models yesterday tea-time.

It does appear though that there is no 'first come , first served' process in operation here which is extremley unfair to the folks whom ordered in the early hours.

I appreciate your point with respect to fairness but you cant honestly expect someone in rural wales for example to get it before someone in london because they ordered it a couple of hours before. It cant possibly work that way.

My order was delayed and ordered as soon as the site came up. Not Rural Scotland but 25 miles south of Glasgow, hardly rural

Well that all depends on when the ipad is due to enter the UK. However, saying that, if i was to send something Royal Mail Special delivery, it would still arrive in rural wales by 12 noon the next day.

Hey if you have to get on the M77 to get there its rural :)

You know what I'm trying to say though, chances are if yours is delayed then theres a good chance mines will be too.

Only because thats an expedited service though.

Well yes, I'm sure that if Apple only had one iPad to deliver in the UK then RMSD could cope.

But if you turned up at the post office with a million boxes it's unlikely they would be able to meet that guarantee.
