Just ordered today, estimates 20-22 aug for delivery. Such a waaiiit! I hope they are being conservative with the estimate.
Took mine 10 days to ship (Estimated 1-2 weeks) and e-mail advises it will take up to 4 days to deliver (2-3 days standard delivery).
I bet I'll be checking mine every day to see the progress >.> I need to forget it for 2 weeks!
Luckily I've just return from a holiday so that kept me offline but since it shipped I've gone as far as tracking the flight at this moment in time.

Luckily mine was booked and paid for well in advance otherwise my girlfriend would have been getting some disappointing news By a miracle mine could arrive Monday but in all likelihood it'll be Tuesday or Wednesday. This is going to be a long weekend
Probably a stupid question, but do we get an option for expedited delivery? I read an American thread about it, but I didn't see options at checkout and can't find anything about it now so I assume not?
EDIT: Seems like special delivery is only available for small and less popular items like iPod nanos. Pretty ridiculous. I mean it makes more sense to offer paid delivery for high demand items == more money for Apple... Not sure why USA gets this option but not us too.

Because they live closer to china, overnight or two days from china to usa is more feasible.
Being closer means they get faster deliveries naturally, yes, but it doesn't explain why we don't have the option for ours to be expedited. We have to choose free, standard delivery.
EDIT: As the below poster pointed out, and I'm embarrassed to not have known this, the UK is significantly closer to China anyway.

I'm also at 'ready for delivery' but waiting for merging with my giftcard and DVI adaptor, so hopefully tuesday delivery.
Anyone get the UPS tracking information from Apple less than the 48 hours before estimated delivery, as stated?

For some reason mine was 10 mins earlier!? I'm assuming they will go to Apple, get merged and be collected by UPS by the end of today. Looking back in this thread the majority got theirs delivered the day after. Fingers crossed.

In saying that, I'm not really worried about what screen I have, I don't subscribe to all this 'Samsung is better'
Apple wouldn't ship with an infierior screen, and it's always the case, that 1% of people who have issues will scream loudest.
If I'm totally honest I'd prefer a Samsung screen and ML installed but in reality I just don't want dead pixels, ghosting, bleeding etc.

... and the Apple tracking shows ' Preparing handover to final carrier ' - I suspect the merge happens very quickly ( I ordered a Magsafe converter as well )
