UK New MacBook Pro Thread.

well my 2.6/16/512 ordered with PC World on the 19th has yet to appear.
They have no idea where it is or whats happening. And PC world have no way of tracking internally until it turns up in their warehouse. Which it hasn't as of this morning.
Noone in the company has a clue whats going on. My work ordered it so I personally can't cancel, but to say I am unimpressed would be an understatement.

If it was ordered on the 19th, it would have been on the flight with all of ours.
So it will be in UPS's hands at the moment.
They will take delivery of it today. Suggest you call them tomorrow to confirm they have it.
Why did they order with PC World? they're a joke of a company
Was it order with PC World on the 19th or was that when they ordered with Apple?
Mines currently enroute from China to LHR touching down at 20:01 this evening! How long after arriving in the UK has most peoples taken? And merging happens in the UK I believe? Also expeditors has an expected Delivery date (down for the 10th) is that to me or Apple? First Mac ever and the excitement is absolutely killing me.

it was ordered with Apple on the 19th. I ordered with PC World on the 14th. Took them that long to process it.
Yeah PC World are awful. My boss ordered it as they offered a business discount - but based on this experience I will not be using them again, ever.
what kind of company has no way of tracking its order progress or ETA?

apparently PC World only have one woman who deals with all of apple's orders in the UK. And she was not prepared to chase it with Apple. I wouldn't mind but all they can tell me is it will appear within 36 days of the order date.
Eugh I just popped into the Apple Store and they said I could cancel my order and take the base rMBP (which I've ordered) home today and still receive the education discount. Alas, I used Quidco and I can't really sniff at that £60 back. Wish I hasn't gone in now, I want it!

Just using migration assistant to restore from Time Capsule now.

Arrived today. Didn't have time to use Migration Assistant but checked out the screen for dead pixels using 'Screen Utility' - search for it in App Store - no dead pixels. It's a Samsung panel. No ghosting either. The screen brightness is a bit weird but I intend to use my i1D2 to calibrate the screen - will update on what results this gives me.
For people who talk of how the rMBP screen isn't all that big a deal - I have several 30" LCD screens, all calibrated to the hilt and this one beats them hands down. I used the Munsell hue test and scored a perfect '0' on the test using the rMBP ! First thing my wife commented was ' wow the screen is superb ! '. Hope all my fellow pallet-mates enjoy their newly delivered rMBPs as well

Did you order when dispatch estimates were 1-2 weeks? That's encouraging that it was delivered within 3 days. My order page seems to think it'll take about 10 days to deliver after it's dispatched (5-7 business days from Saturday, 4th to dispatch, and a delivery estimate of 20-22 Aug)!

Base model 2.3/8/256. Would think there'd be the most stock of those and the quickest dispatch?
Did you recieve yours?
Was it delivered before the estimated delivery date?
