UK New MacBook Pro Thread.

Woo my order status changed from Preparing for Shipment to Shipped today!

By the looks of things, 'Shipped' status is when the product arrives in the United Kingdom from China, correct? I live right near Feltham so hopefully I'll get it tomorrow, if not the day after!

I don't like to do this but better disappointed now than tomorrow :( Shipped means it's started it's flight from China to the UK. It minces around at Heathrow for a fair while too. Expect it probably next Tuesday

the requested delivery date is just the date requested by Goldstar for the packages to be delivered by flight. Goldstar will deliver your MacBook to UPS, and UPS will deliver the laptop to you.

I expect Goldstar will get the laptop to UPS before tomorrow, and UPS should overnight the package to a facility near you before delivering it.

I'd say you'll have your laptop tomorrow. Not today, sadly.

Are you getting a gift card with yours? If so is it being merged or sent separately. I just thought since you ordered by phone maybe they sent them separately if they did offer you it? I say this because the Apple track page says they assign the carrier and update the track page once the two are merged.

I'm getting the £70 but as a rebate rather than a gift card. I already have pages etc. I was just emailed to tell me that they have authorised this refund. As far as I know, there is to be no merging, though I did add an ethernet adapter to my order. The lady at UPS said I should expect delivery tomorrow - exciting!

Wow how, did they just straight up offer the rebate or what? I would much rather my invoice was -£70! That does explain it though. Moral of the story: never get items merged, and better yet call up Apple directly to talk about the order!

The guy said 'you can either have a gift card or a rebate'. Not bad eh?! I don't want £70s worth of itunes junk cluttering up my computer so chose a rebate.

Can't wait for tomorrow! Have got to go to work though, sadly.

Very interesting. Did you call specifically about the gift card after the order (perhaps to avoid the merge -- if so, what was the status of your order at the time?), or did you just order by phone?

Well I'm definitely ordering by phone next time. Not only did you save delivery time, but money too. It'll take me years to spend that £70 card...

In fact, I may just call them up and ask for it to be cancelled and be refunded £70.

Mine was also out at that time with goldstar... This means it's being delivered to a courries, not to use though...
 
Roman - I did the whole order by phone as I had lots of annoying questions to ask!

Dangerous Theory - Go for it. In my experience Apple have been very helpful and accommodating so might be able to do that for you. £70 is a nice chunk of money.

Just changed to "Services Completed: Delivered", Expo says "Delivered to consignee". I'm guessing this means UPS has it. Heres hoping we get a delivery confirmation tonight.

EDIT: Apple order page also says "Preparing handover to final carrier", which considering I've also bought a case might mean it isnt ready for delivery? Could spend another day getting merged. I guess Ill know soon

MY exp.o status says "Delivered to consignee" too, however Apple status says "Origin Airport Terminal"

I do hope I receive it tomorrow though!

My Apple status says 'Preparing handover to final carrier', still with no courier info.

My exp.o says 'Services Completed: Delivered' and 'Delivered to Consignee' with the remarks section saying 'molwar' - no idea what that is, googled it and nothing came up.

I'm tracking via the UPS site. I've been tracking using this site all the way from Shanghai. I'm sure it will be with me tomorrow.

Hi there skimo! Fingers crossed you get yours tomorrow too. From a little googling, I've found that there is some kind of customs thing at CD. Seems mad though, as I live way down south. I hope they haven't made some kind of error.

Hmm, I've tried using all 3 numbers on apple.com/orderstatus and nothing works with UPS :(
