Milton Keynes Apple store has four on display (Not sure of the spec).

They had 3 in stock (yesterday) but again not sure of the specs.

Thanks, unfortunately it doesn't work for me :-(

Probably because of this message on the delivery status page of my apple account / order tracking:

Please Note: Your items dispatched from different locations and will be merged together before delivery. Once merged, your Order Status will be updated with carrier and tracking information (at latest 48 business hours before your estimated delivery date).

Thanks also to Joe and 88king. I will assume that my RMBP is on the way but does have a UPS tracking number yet (it does have a tracking/delivery reference but the apple tracking page doesn't specify a courier).

Ain't waiting fun?

I have exactly the same thing (In the Netherlands, though).

I have a "Additional Order Numbers" field and a "Our Delivery Reference Number" field, both of which don't seem to work on any of the shipping companies (UPS, FedEX, etc).

EDIT: So this site worked http://expo.expeditors.com/
It has apparently already landed in Amsterdam :)

Did anyone get a University Discount in store on RMBP? If so how much 15% or 8% ? I asked them at Stratford Westfield store and they said they weren't sure if they'll have discounts on the RMBP when they get in stock.. And some one here said that he just got 8%.. So can someone please confirm ... Did anyone get 15% in store?

Thanks in advance :)

The guy who mentioned the 8% got this discount at an Apple reseller not the Apple store. I guess the Apple resellers want to make some profit for themselves ??! I am sure that if you order online the RMBP you should get around 17% discount..

Thanks Jeopardy.

I checked online, it's around 17% but it'd take 3-4 weeks. The Westfield store have registered me as a business customer or something..and they'll reserve/ call me when they have them in stock ..they'll probably give me a call on Monday .. So I want to get one from the store as I can get sooner ..

Don't forget there is also 3 years hardware warranty and £70 iTunes voucher when you order online. Adding those up, you do save a lot by waiting for a month.

Is the hardware warranty international? Coz England is not my home country. I thought the £70 Is under back to school promotion and I think they offer that in store as well .. I'm not sure though ...

The warranty on all macs is international. Just a word of advice. If you are from new Delhi India. Just don't go to genius4minds if you have a problem with your mac. They removed my speakers from my cinema display

Not sure, I know Apple Care is international, and I think the Higher Educational warranty is same as Apple Care minus the phone support for 2nd and 3rd year. Best to phone Apple Online to get a definitive answer.

No, I'm not from New Delhi. Thanks anyway. :)

Thanks :) I'll give them a call tomorrow.
I just can't believe it's 3 weeks dispatch time ...online ..:(

Iv been looking around. No one locally or near me has one. Thinking of ordering one online. So excited. My first mac.

That's what made me consider leaving the online buy. Rather just go and pick one up.

You could always order one online can cancel that once you find one in your local Apple store.

P.S. If you lack the fund, you can apply for finance with online order, so no upfront payment.
If you find one on high street store, just cancel the online order, or if the online order arrives 1st, you can pay off the loan in one go, so no interest will be charged.

I ordered within about half an hour of the store coming back up, and was quoted 5-7 days dispatch and delivery 22nd-26th.

On Thursday I got a shipment notification saying delivery on the 22nd. My carrier was listed as Expeditors Shanghai, and looking on their website I get the tracking info below. It seems to suggest a 14:00 delivery on the 19th (Tuesday).

Anyone else get Expeditors as their carrier? And how does your delivery date from tracking relate to the one from the email?

Really want one considering the Mac I'm using right now is four years old and starting to get slow. But whether or not I have to money to get another is a whole another story... I'm probably going to have to sell my current Mac to fund a new one. Has anyone done this or is thinking of doing this? Curious as to how much it could fetch on the second-hand market.

What's wrong with you people...? Running slow...? I'm still editing video on a G4 powerbook, which is power PC, not Intel, and seven years old. If your four year old Macbook Pro is running slow I can only imagine it's a problem created by yourself. Those are very powerful computers, and easily upgradable in terms of RAM.

Thanks mate, I dint know that. I'll order one now!
And I have the funds so no problem.

Can't wait! :D

I'm in the exact same situation except my delivery date shows as the 18th through Expeditors. Apple site still shows 22nd.

Trying not to get my hopes up for a Monday delivery.

....iFixit rated the retina display macbook pro 1 out of 10 for fixability. I'm sure it's nice but I sincerely hope this is not the future of the macbook pro. When my hard drive fails I want to be able to replace it myself. If my battery dies I want to be able to replace it. When motion graphics software advances beyond my computers capacity to handle it, I want to be able to upgrade my RAM. The only thing I really like about the retina version is the HDMI out, and thats because I work with video. IF I upgrade, which I'm planning on doing because my current laptop is very old, I will most likely go with the standard Macbook Pro.

...Just remember everyone, what you buy now will have an effect on what we can buy in the future.

Apple Finance Costs

Hey guys,

I just wondered if anyone has bought a new macbook pro retina thru apple's finance yet? And also what the monthly repayments are like and interest? I'm thinking of either doing this or just putting it on a 0% credit card for 16 months. I just wondered what might be the better option?

Thanks Paul

I'm seeing exactly the same thing (and requested delivery date - except mine says June 19th 3PM) and it's in Amsterdam (I live in Holland). I have a feeling that this is a delivery for a sorting facility since I'm also getting the student gift card and magsafe adapter.

You never know - where is yours going to? I'm in SW7 so if the tracking is accurate and it's in Heathrow now, it's reasonable to expect it will travel 15 miles between now and Tuesday.

I don't know if expeditors is actually a courier though, or whether it will be like syncreon and get passed over to UPS, UKMail, or one of the others. Not long now though...

That's a possibility; maybe the requested delivery date is the date the consignment will be handed over to a local courier.

Reviews by uk based techys for the new MacBook Pro anyone found?!

I'll be doing one on my blog and also on YouTube..

Incidentally - thanks for the heads up, Kidman13 and others :)

http://expo.expeditors.com/

^ That works.

The same number in UPS/TNT/etc isn't found, but according to the expeditors.com site, my Macbook is currently on Korean Air 503 and delayed (!) [just 20 minutes.. :p] in Seoul.

Fortunately the flight is direct to LHR so it will be in the country soon!

It's intriguing following all the different routes Apple takes from Shanghai. I wonder why my particular MBP went to Korea??

Anyway, it's fun, at least now I can track it :)

I've ordered mine through the education store, which came out as £2,013.60 inc VAT (2.6GHz Standard, with full AppleCare). I selected 36 months which came out as £68.74 a month. £2,474.64 overall, which is less than I would have paid for the laptop full price, so I'm happy with that. (Interest is 14.8% if you were wondering)
