Here's hoping!

Just ordered one from PC world too for delivery Tomorrow before 12 - Fingers so tightly crossed! Not cancelling my order with Apple yet just in case though!

Yeah I noticed that - Ram it!

However that is their "anything happens" policy which normally means you could try using it underwater and they'd give you a new one - also they will do old for new replacement so if you leave it a year or 2 to the 2014 RMBP ;) I had that policy on an ex-TV of mine....

Ordered my classic 15" MBP last week and since Monday it's been stated as Shipped but delivery date unknown.

I also read that once items have been merged I would be supplied a tracking number within 48 hours.

It's been way over 48 hours now and it still says nothing.

But I noticed today on the Apple shipment status page it says "In Transit to Customer"

Anyone else had the same problem?

It's kind of annoying since I dont have a tracking number and I need to head out to town for some equipment so I don't really want to miss the delivery.

The Apple rep who I ordered with did say it would be with me by the earliest of the 22nd which is today.

My mate at work had one of these policies for his laptop and they took it away for repair 4 times and each time refused to replace it until he got in contact with the manager at currys so something tells me they would be even less inclined to hand out a new laptop at £1799 or more.

Bad News.

UPS guy has been and gone. No RMBP.

Rang UPS - they are clueless. Gave me a number of another company (countrywide freight ltd)!

This is madness!!

Do any of the Apple stores in london have stock of the retina yet?

Though I may hold out for the ultimate, even it if takes a while.

I went to the Covent Garden store yesterday and they had nothing in stock and told me it would be 2-3 weeks. He then said people who had ordered online usually received it within 10 days, and the 3-4 weeks is the worst case scenario.

Ordered mine on the 15th and it's still saying that I won't receive it till the 16th of July! Still processing ....

Be thankful! I ordered early on the 14th (2.3/16/256MBPR) and it's saying 13th-19th July.

Not. Amused. I am. Patient. However. I must be.

Hmm, mine says 2-3 weeks despatch. Tues next week will be 2 weeks and it still says "Processing" so it's not looking good for them improving on the estimates.

I've been thinking, I reckon Apple do this on purpose, some kind of marketing psychology. They make the big announcement of the new products and end with "Available Today!!!" yet within hours lead-times have gone out to several weeks. This means that when the media - especially the non-technical media - report it, it seems as though Apple have been overwhelmed by demand for in excess of their expectations which has the effect of making the product seem even better than it is and so generate more orders

I can't believe that Apple, a company that can afford - and does - employ the best of the best in all areas of their business can be so far off the mark with their launch planning.

I have just ordered mine this morning. 22 june. Wasn't planned at all just did it all on the apple app on the iPhone.

My waiting time is 3-4 weeks. 23-27 July

I ordered mine on the 14th too (2.6/8/768MBPR) and it is saying 12th-18th of July - I wonder how mine is a day earlier than yours!

Only 20-26 Days to go!

Your waiting time looks more like 4-5 weeks to me. I thought the same thing about mine, which suggests 3-4 but looks more like 4-5. I guess they are rounding down or something....

You have bigger SSD, stock RAM.

I have stock SSD, bigger RAM.

You have 2.6, I have 2.3.

Potayto potahto or summat....

Anyway, maybe we can have a race? :)

Two Retina available in Derby

I was surprised to find this morning that KRCS and Square Group both had one each available to buy on the spot. Not absolutely sure that the KRCS was in the shop but the Square one was.

Both were 2.6 Ghz/512 gb with 8Gb RAM.

Would have grabbed one if they had been 16Gb RAM.

Read it VERY carefully as it doesn't cover old for new in value but spec which is why I cancelled one (something they have no choice about now in the first 45 days).

I have a question regarding topcashback.. I don't know if anyone of you have ever used it..
I completed my retina macbook pro order using topcashback, and that's more than 7 days ago but I haven't seen my cash back in my account yet! I was wondering, does the cash back show up after I receive my item from Apple, or it should show up after 7 days regardless (as they specify in their website)? If so shall I submit a claim? Thanks a lot for any help

I don't know about topcashback, but I know Quidco only shows the cash has started tracking once the item has been dispatched.
