I maxed out everything minus the extra hdd - so 2.7 / 16 / 512 - it arrived on Thursday after ordering around 9pm on the 11th, so it must be the extra hdd thats holding it up.

Its worth the wait though :)

Thanks! :)

Are you finding any issues with lag or otherwise? Just wondering whether the complaints about lag and scrolling are affecting the base model more than the maxed out model.

Cancelled my order through Apple for the Barclays Loan Agreement and placed an order again on my credit card.

Apple will contact Barclays to cancel it but will phone tomorrow as well to confirm.

Means waiting even longer but now I have peace of mind that if I pay chunks off my credit card bill I will pay next to no interest.

That's what I would have done (although I've got the luxury of a 0% deal) the only thing is you must have the discipline to pay it off quickly and not go down the route of just paying off the minimum so you can do/buy other things!

That's why I didn't wanna go for apple's finance with Barclays its just too expensive. I've got a fairly good limit on my Marks & Spencer card but the 0% has nearly run out otherwise i'd put it on that.

Natwest were doing 18 months 0% and tesco's were doing 16 months 0%. But it would depend on how much limit they will give. I'll have to apply and see what happens. I hate borrowing money but if I want a shiny new RMBP I have to do it.

I received mine from PC World yesterday although I had the same problem that I suspect most people had who paid for Saturday delivery.

As PC World is next to useless, they sent an email out with a DPD tracking code. DPD could't track it and assumed it was lost.

I then asked for a refund from PC World - which they couldn't do until they investigated where it had gone etc etc.

It was later delivered by Yodel (they had actually left it next door!) - it's a lovely piece of kit!

Congrats on the new machine!

I am surprised though that PC World have more stock than Apple!

lol - and to think that the former CEO of that company is now head of Apple Retail. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence does it?

Just applied for a 0% purchase credit card so will decide if I want to use this one instead once it arrives and with all this messing around if i bit the bullet straight away I could of had a rMBP in my hand now.

Now just need to sweet talk the wife as to why I need this new laptop!

Had to use Apple's finance option for the first time, £500 extra over 4 years :(

But at least I dont have to apply for a credit card, as I'd easily do more than £500 worth of damage if I had one of those nasty debt inducing pieces of plastic.

£125 a year extra is nothing in reality. Got the base model with 16GB of RAM. Really wanted the extra HDD space, but an extra 500 quid is obscene for a slight spec boost and a little more memory. Considering I only use 200GB or so on my Windows PC, its just not worth it anyway.

Delivery estimate 23rd-27th July :(

Made a final decision and decided to wait a while until the shipping times have improved and by then I would of got my 0% APR credit card through and can then purchase the laptop or buy it in cash whichever one comes sooner.

Which one didi you apply for just out of interest?

Thanks! :)

No problems so far, played cod4 in 2800x1800 and its fantastic, but have noticed the screen makes my eyes water a bit after prolonged use :)

Nah not at all just used confused.com and applied for that one but using this purely for the purchase of a rMBP

Confused, I forgot about that one. i was just looking on compare the market. Thanks for that I'm gonna check it out.

14 or 15 months 0% apr Halifax one and they have said my limit will be around 10k!!

How did you find out what you limit might be? They usually say on the application that they can't tell you that till they have approved your application.

They said it would be around £10200 when I finished applying so could be less more interested in how many months they give me at 0%

Just in case anyone is still trying to track down a base spec rMBP, the iStore in Woking has 3 in stock and has done all weekend. Really surprised to find them not sold out!

I've a BTO on the way so had to pass on this.

I wonder how many are left by tomorrow when people read your post.
