Latest update - DPD "forgot" to pick up the package on Fri AND Sat! It's going out today and should be with me tomorrow (not that I'm in, so I'll see it tomorrow night or Wed!). PC World have given me another £20 for my trouble.

Starting to think I'm not supposed to get this laptop..like the world is conspiring against me - seriously! This is my 4th attempt at purchasing it lol, and I still have my Apple order on standby just in case.

My base rMBP, ordered late on the 11th (may even have been early 12th), is due for delivery tomorrow 2 days earlier that Apple's original estimate. Hopefully that'll cheer up those of you waiting :)

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that. Suggest you give them a call.

The shop is a 5 minute walk from the train station and it's no bother to park nearby.

Good luck!
Thanks, i live in Woking so not a problem, will check it out later on today. Didn't think to check at the local stores was just waiting for the shipment notice.

I ordered a base MBPR on 12th June, just checked my order and it still says : Processing items, 2 - 3 Weeks, Delivers 4th July - 10th July.

I wonder why? I wish I was in your situation!

I'm in the same boat - I'm sure It will change within the next few days. My order on the 12th had a processor upgrade to 2.7 as well as 16GB RAM, and as far as I'm aware no orders that have included the 2.7Ghz processor and ordered on the 12th are all still being processed (based upon the spreadsheet in the other order thread).

People saying that pc world/dixons/curries is over priced. I beg to differ. They have some of the best offers on TV's around. Never thought to buy a computer there. But i have personally saved hundreds with them before.

So because they have a few decent deals on TVs every so often, NOTHING else they stock is overpriced?

Such a stubborn view to have. In reality, they are a terrible company, who refuse to die. Go into any PCW/Currys store and they are always empty, aside from the ridiculous amount of staff they hire to walk around playing with iPads.

Ordered 2.7/16Gb/512 on 12th June at about 4am UK - I was in the US at the time, so was actually 8pm PST on 11th).

Received shipping notification this morning and Apples system say I should have it on or before the 28th (this Thursday). UPS tracking has it as leaving China earlier today.

Very exciting times! Going to try not to check the tracking page too much.....

Cool. Let us know how you get on.

It never occurred to me that the tiny Woking iStore would have even a display model by now, let alone stock.

I found out about the stock by asking (out of interest) how many rMBPs they had received in total. It was then (at about 4pm yesterday) that they told me they had stock. Just amazed it had been sat there all weekend unsold.

I was able to have a nice uninterrupted play on the 2.3Ghz display model - nobody else in the shop seemed to notice or have any interest in it. Can't wait to receive my BTO now! :D

Actually i mentioned that i have never thought to buy a pc there. Only stating my own experience with them. Am I not allowed to do that? Could you point out where I said that nothing they stock is over priced? I am having trouble finding it?

I managed to get into the 7-10 days despatch, so must have ordered slightly earlier than I thought.

You may get more insight from http://expo.expeditors.com grab the "Our Delivery Reference Number" from the Apple store track an order page thing and enter it on the expeditors website. In the Events tab you should be able if it is actually processing or whether it's started shipping (I don't think my status changed to shipped until it was actually on the plane).

Mine's still "Processing" :( I reckon my fellow 2-3 weekers whose orders changed to "preparing to ship" last night are in with a shout of getting them by Friday - so you've all weekend to play with them :) - but for the rest of us it's going to be next week now :(

I've just had a thought. Do you think the recent Natwest / RBS / Ulster Bank problems have been caused by everyone splashing out £1.7k to £2.5k on Apple laptops? :)

You may jest, but I am less than 100ft away from the nerve centre of the crisis management process, and all the fat cats are in attendance, looking stressed and anxious... Luckily this has absolutely nothing to do with my coding #schadenfreude :)

Sweet! Could you ask them to prod Ulster Bank a bit so I can get my pay that I was expecting today, cheers!

Ah, you should know better than to prod a cat, especially a fat cat, lest you get scratched by its claws...

TV cameras outside the foyer right now, which makes me think that the delayed processing/delivery of my MBPR is a somewhat lesser problem in the greater scheme of things....

Good luck with your money!

You got yours already? Ordered mine on Fri for Sat morning delivery and it never turned up - who delivered yours? mine is out with DPD. Not even sure if it's turning up today :(

Livid.

Yes, I got mine on Saturday, delivered by Yodel in the end, even though all correspondence told me it was to be delivered by DPD.

I wasn't impressed, but I guess nothing is simple with PC World.

You should take more care with opening statements in future.

Hmm, is their online banking (nwolb.com) your coding? If so, please can you fix the login screens to work properly with iOS devices? Thanks :D
Nope. I'm a freelance, journeyman tech specialist. Not worked on any customer-facing stuff here. Mostly internal systems. Anyway, I digress...

Has anyone speculated that it might be supplier issues causing the MBPRs to be so delayed? Or perhaps this is all part of the master plan? :)

You are implying that I said the they never have over priced any product ever. I never meant that. I just wanted to interject my thoughts and you decided to attack my comment.
Again, i never said they don't over price anything. But I have found many bargains there. Not saying anything else on the matter as you seem set on twisting my words.

They would only give me college discount and not a university discount so didn't buy it. However just checked my order status and preparing for shipment!

Am I the only 3-4 week wait in here? I ordered last Monday so been exactly one week.

I really think that in another two weeks I will forget that I have even ordered one of these :p
