UK New MacBook Pro Thread.

For those whose rMBP has despatched today, if you put your "Our Delivery Reference Number" into http://expo.expeditors.com/expo/ you'll see that we're on a pallet bound (apparently directly) for London weighing 709.5KG. Assuming just over 3KG per rMBP that'll be around 200 rMBPs in total all snuggled up in cellophane. How romantic.

Nice find. It looks as though my rMBP is sitting somewhere in the middle of that pallet.

Just goes to show there's no rhyme nor reason to all this.

Yours went from Processing to Shipped overnight whereas several of us only went from Processing to Preparing

You've got a delivery date of 3 July whereas Aksta a few posts back also shipped this morning and has a delivery date of 28 June :confused:

Unless you're in N.Ireland or the Highlands where delivery takes longer?

It's shipping to my address in London, but I've also included other bits and bobs in the same order, like the Pegasus so that may impact the delivery since they will probably pack it all into one once it gets to London. Next week suits me better anyway since I am only in London every second week or so.

Talking about that container... if I am reading the info correctly it seems that there are 174 rMBPs in there.
 
Hmmm, wonder if there are daily flights from China to the UK or will we have to wait for the same plane to return? If so, it's going to be Wed - or Thurs even - before the next batch are shipped

it was the 28th now it has gone up to the 3rd as well =(

i knew it was too good to be true
 
Thats great for all of you now its shipped, my poor base model mbpr ordered on the 12th, still says processing :-(

Promising for arrival at Heathrow tomorrow night.

Good also that our shipment doesn't appear to be going via Kazakhstan as some others have done - not that I have anything against mine being merged by Borat's brother ("number 3 apple accessories merger in all Kazahkstan").

Looks like it's saying the flight number is LH8401, but according to flightaware.com that's a Lufthansa flight from Pudong, Shanghai to Frankfurt via Almaty - wherever the hell that is (Kazahkstan?) :confused:
 
Yeah - Almaty is the former capital of Kazakhstan.

I have a feeling that the base models haven't been shipped yet. Mines still processing too, ordered on the 12th - 2pm.

I'm pretty sure the batch that shipped out last night are slightly higher spec, no? (2.6/512?)

I don't know, but mine is on that shipment and I ordered the 2.6/16 GB/512 GB

Yes a few extras which had to be merged - I probably would have got it yesterday if it came straight from Heathrow!


Re: LH8401 - mine came on the same flight number. It went to Frankfurt and then another flight to London. Once it arrives in Frankfurt, expo will update with another flight number. At least that's what happened to me.

Yeah, everyone who's posted about the shipment being sent has been that same spec (I think), hence the bunching up of 2-3/3-4 weekers. Lets hope the base leave tomorrow :D
 
Does anyone know where the supply constraint comes from for the rMBP's? Is it the display, consumer demand or a mix of the two or something completely different?

I would say it's a mix of the two. Unexpected demand, supply constraint on the displays and dealing with manufacturing an entirely new product.
 
Cabot Circus Apple Store in Bristol had a few rMBP's in today. A couple of hours ago they had base level £1799 and mid level models in stock. Well they have one less base level in stock now :) I would check with the store before visiting as they are expecting to sell out pretty quickly.

Just tried putting my "Our Delivery Reference Number" into that expo system and nothing comes up :(
 
Does anyone else have a wait like mine? I'm seeing a lot of people getting theirs shipped before me :(

Just went into the Apple Shop in Bath and they had just took delivery of some 2.6 + 8GB RAM + 512GB Flash and I was sorely tempted to snap one up and cancel my online order but eventually convinced myself that I wanted the 16GB for a reason and to not be too rash....very hard to walk away though.

I'm not going to lie, it's getting pretty stressful reading about people who ordered on the same day as me (13th), with the same spec (the one above) having theirs dispatched, when mine's still sitting at processing with an ETA of 12-18 July
