Thank you both! So, from Frankfurt it heads in on a truck to London, not a plane? Bonkers. I'd love to get it on the 3rd, but I guess that won't be happening (my day off). Either way, as long as it's sometime next week it's good.

I've updated my details on www.wheresmyappleorder.com Nicely done site.

It does indeed take a truck sadly, which takes longer.

I'd say it COULD be delivered on the 3rd, it depends on how quickly it clears customs. It's more likely to be the 4th, though.

Some people are being lucky and theirs are taking a direct route from China to London which is much quicker.

Hey chaps -- you may be able to give me a quick hand.

I just ordered my rMBP 2.3 16gb -- it said when I was ordering it should arrive between Jul 31st - Aug 6th. This seems like crazy long to wait... Is this realistic? If not, what do you guys think is a more realistic date for this given it's a built to order model?

(I bought this through the education store if it makes a difference...)

Yes, this is realistic! I ordered over 2 weeks ago and am still on 'Processing Items'!

I've been thinking about why they use a truck (since mine took 36 hours from arriving at Frankfurt to arriving at Heathrow) and I wonder if it's because, logistically, they treat Europe as a single geographic area? Frankfurt is central-ish, if you include Scandinavia (and stuff for Scandinavia appears to come through FRA too) so elivery within the EU is considered local, hence the trucks.

Since most of mainland Europe is in the Schengen Zone it's straightforward moving stuff by road, but we draw the short straw because we're on an island.

Hi guys,

I'm not British, hope you'll help me anyway :D

Ordered a MBPR + the student gift card on the 13th of June (with shipping estimates of 3-4 weeks) - it shipped four days ago, Apple claims it will be delivered in exactly a week. Here's a screen dump from Expeditors:

Skærmbillede%202012-06-30%20kl.%2018.05.08.png

When can I expect the delivery? Or does the MBP have to merge with the bloody (!) gift card?

Thanks!

It will be out for delivery by Monday if you're lucky, I'd be surprised if it hasn't arrived by Tuesday. They don't deliver on weekends but they still continue to move the package around. So depending how close you are to Heathrow it will be at your local sorting depot ready to be loaded onto the delivery van for the monday.

Is that delivery date the delivery courier or Apple's date? Apple's date will be significantly out of sync if they shipped your Macbook earlier than their own estimates, which seems to be the case for almost every MBPR order.

Where are education orders merging with the MBPR? Just curious as my iMac merged in transit in Ireland IIRC.
I assume the "Requested delivery date" listed below is when it's going to be delivered to the next stage of the process, rather than to me?

I can't really comment since I'm from the UK but it does have to be merged with the gift card, so now it's cleared customs it'll be delivered to the merging centre in Amsterdam. Then it'll be sent to you via another courier.

Requested delivery date is the date by which it will have been delivered to Apple's merging centre. It's not uncommon for it to be delivered to them before the date specified.

Cheers Jake. Hoping it gets there earlier... Surely can't take nearly 3 full days from Heathrow to the merging centre?

It probably won't take 3 days to get to the merging centre, your flight has already landed in Heathrow. When my brother's machine took the same route as yours, it cleared customs the morning after the flight and then was delivered to the merging centre on that day too.

I'm not sure if expo will deliver it to Apple on a Sunday though, so Apple will probably get it on Monday and then you'll get it on Tuesday.

I don't understand why Expeditors doesn't work for me.
Any idea?

Yes. Put the number in the box, and select Track By Shipment Number

----------

Mine still says "Not cleared for import". Let's hope that's just Expeditors being slow to update and not that's it's being left until Monday morning :(

It says: "No data available in table". :(

When mine arrived at LHR on the same route as yours (it arrived at around 7am though), it stayed in customs until around 5:30pm but the site didn't update until around 9pm - 10pm to state that. It probably is just being slow to update.

I think this does happen sometimes. When I ordered an iMac a few weeks ago I couldn't get any tracking until it had reached the UK and had been passed onto UPS. There isn't much you can do, I guess you could check again later to see if there's any data just in case.

thanks - there's still hope then :p

Where are education orders merging with the MBPR? Just curious as my iMac merged in transit in Ireland IIRC.

Usually at Syncreon in Hinckley, Leicestershire, and then a few miles down the road to UPS' main distribution hub in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

My rMBP has apparently landed in LHR, as of 16:57 of the 30th on VIR251.

Mine is also on the VS251. Going on holiday Wed morning - am hoping that I get it by then, so I have time for a quick play with it! To be merged with edu voucher + Apple TV..

That's weird. Mines on VS251, but wasn't due to arrive til 21:01.

Are Virgin really running that many direct flights from China?!

My EXP status is weird, it originally said that the est time for arrival in LHR was 7:31am on 2/7/12 but apparently it came in on the 30/6/12. That's two days earlier than it estimated? My details
are below :

30-Jun-2012 06:27:00 CEST Confirmed on Board (Departed)
