Ordered the retina MBP about half an hour after the online store came back up, just had an email from Apple to say its been shipped. UPS tracking number confirms it left Shanghai earlier today.
I wonder how long it will take to arrive, Apple site originally quoted 20th June but now says 18th June. So confused, but totally excited! My mid-2009 MBA is already sad.

Hello everyone (I see a few familiar names from the iPhone 4, 4S, iPad 2 and 3 threads ).
I also ordered a Macbook Pro 15" Retina (2.3Ghz / 16GB RAM) from the store about an hour after it was up. Amazingly the store was relatively glitch free, far from the usual timeout-fest of most product announcement days.
Still "Processing", "Delivers 25 Jun, 2012 - 27 Jun, 2012".

To those using student discount and quidco:
If you have copied the EDU discount link from your university, so that you can order away from campus, how are you also applying the quidco discount as that uses a separate link?
Presumably, to get quidco and student discount, you need to order from campus? That way, the quidco link will 'automatically' let you into the EDU link as you are already logged into the institutions network.

I was going to use topcashback but I presume its accessed the same way, basically i was going to access through topcashback and then edit the link to take me to the correct uni page. Dont know if it would work or not, Im inclined to think it might, only because they can track when youve clicked through their website and made a purchase, so hopefully they could see you clicked through and made the purchase, even though you edited the link.

Although if I hadn't been so indecisive I could have bought one and probably had it by now. Such is life.

I have to have a little laugh at the number of students buying the MBPR - it's a surprising number considering how hard it must be (financially) to be a student these days. I'm reminded of my (Comp Sci) degree (91-95) and out of a graduating class of maybe 40 people, perhaps 3 or 4 had laptops. Everyone else relied on the labs.
Anyway, I digress. Just glad that Apple's still around as when I was a student they were on the brink of going out of business, and if you'd told me then that they'd be This Big and This Successful in 2012, I'd never have believed you
