I was invoiced for my order on the 5th (just checking my e-mail now) how much longer after paying did you guys have to wait for it to arrive or does it have no effect?

I just got off the phone from apple now and my order is due to merge in the UK Apple warehouse today or tomorrow and be with me by the 11th! So I finally have some good news and a bloody delivery date!
I was also told that items shipping via merge in transit wont have there delivery info updated until they merge in the Apple warehouse because they are not shipping with the final currier until then (she told me mine would be coming through UPS, which Ive known since last week because the apple.com site gives more info then the UK one).
So I guess Im a happy bunny now

apparently another batch has been sent from china as mine has been shipped with the tracking information not working :S .. ahh well its shipped though ... it was ready on monday and shipped today (tuesday) ... well earlier than the 16-19th of october i was quoted .... btw this is from the apple store online uk

My iPod touch arrived today from John Lewis - week 38. Having had a quick play, it seems that it has no dead pixels either.
It really is a fantastic little device. Especially cool was turning on Airport on my Mac Pro and surfing the web on the touch using the Mac Pro as a go-between.

Got my touch from Argos today. Unbelievably amazing !

If there in Nuneaton then that means you will get it tomorrow – UPS dont tend to hold items for future delivery unless requested by the consignee
I phoned apple back today to get my tracking number and shipper details and I get told one of my items is still in Amsterdam.... new expected delivery dates are the 15th-16th of October, this is seriously starting to take the piss now, my boss at work will think I’m messing him about by requesting holidays and then canceling them the day before I’m suppose to take them, if its held up anymore or i get a delivery date change then i think its time to skip the apple phone support and mail Mr. Jobs with a complaint about how my orders been dealt with!
Argh why the hell did I order from Argos, I've just been on the phone to them and they're still trying to tell me that they haven't received a "launch date" from Apple, and they don't have any stock - even though people further up this thread have received them.
Might have to have a bit of a trip round Bristol and see if I can grab one thats in stock - does anybody know anything about availability in Cribbs Causeway or anything?

I like the sound of that. How did you go about getting that to work? System Prefs wise, does it require anything beyond merely turning on Airport?
You need to share your internet connection (from within System Preferences). I told my Mac Pro to share Ethernet #2 (which is plugged in to my cable modem, via a router) and made sure that the "Airport" option was selected. Make sure you have an Airport network set up and you should see it from within the Wi-fi settings on your touch.
You can use the same method to share the connection with a Nintendo Wii.
What number did you phone? I'm going to give them a ring tomorrow if it hasn't arrived.
