iPod touch UK order status thread

just got my 16gb ipod touch today that i ordered from argos on mondayvery happy !!
how do i tell what week model it is?
There should be a code on the box, it will be something like this 1A739FTUW4N the part that tells you the week is highlighted, this information will also be on your invoice from apple
Would have been late notice if you needed to be off work to sign for it tomorrow though
thanks, its a week 38, is that good or bad? everything looks good to me? havent tried watching any videos yet though as its still syncing....
Yeah, lucky for them I'm off work tomorrow anyway. Still don't have a clue who is delivering it.
Well since the 1.1.1 update even the week 36 and 37’s (ones with the bad screen issue) have apparently been fixed, but I don’t think anyone reported problems with the week 38’s so be happy and enjoy your Touch m8ty!
Also if you look for problems or read threads on here about others peoples problems or suspected problems you will start to notice small defects in your own, so my advice is try and avoid those types of threads
Heres something you can try, go to apple.com (the US site not the UK one) and log in to your account on there, click on Order Status and you might have a tracking number on that page, it wont be of much use because it will just be a pre-assigned tracking number and not linked to any item yet but it should give you an idea of who will be bringing your iPod Touch, if you get stuck just ask

Well is the number like mine (18 digits?) if so that means you items is shipping with UPS 1Zw7V176 (apples account number) 68 (service level) 57689766 (package number), service level 68 is Standard I think,
If its not an 18 Digit number then its not shipping through UPS
hmm weird ... mine is going through TNT international express :S ... or does it change to UPS when it gets to the UK ... although the TNT website says its delivering it to my delivery city (Liverpool)
I think TNT seem to deliver any direct orders, whereas UPS deal with any orders that have 2 or more parts to merge together in the UK.
Could be wrong though.
ah well .... at least its not royal mail ! ....
btw mine was dispatched on monday/tuesday and is supposed to get to me by friday :O
is this even possible lol ? .... i do know that TNT have a warehouse in Liverpool though. (i checked on their website)
Awesome. Had to enable Personal Web Sharing under the FireWall tab before it worked. Shame that it's WEP only and no WPA.

Has anyone got an Apple shipped iPod yet ?
I ordered mine from Apple who say it shipped on the 30th (via Walsh Western Ltd) and is estimated between the 17th and 23rd of October - I don't understand why it's to spend nearly a month in the back of a Transit van.

Is anyone having problems getting status from Argos? they tell me that it might be delivered on Friday but if not then I will get a phone call. Aren't they meant to call you beforehand to confirm delivery date? not just to hang around waiting on the off chance that they 'might' deliver. The letter says delivery by 12th October. I'll hit the roof if I get a call of another delay as it's my birthday on the 13th.

Mine is due tomorrow, so will let you know if it arrives. Mine was shipped on the 29th also by walsh western. However i contacted walsh western and they said they do not ship apple products? So i dont know about that.
With the long delivery times, remember its shipping from China and they just had a Golden Week holiday, so everything is delayed. I hope you get your touch soon

WooHoo, spoke to apple today and they said my touch and imac have arrived in london depo! There going to be shipped by UPS and using my PO number I'm getting tracking information. Should be arriving tmoz, maybe friday so we shall see. Just happy I know its been built and arrived safely.

Nice to hear that the iMac’s and Touches that were ordered together are starting to arrive, did apple update your shipping information or are you just using the tracking number from the “order status” page?

hey i ordered my touch last friday night, but i just want to know which delivery date should i trust... because i got emails saying it shouldnt of even been dispacted till 16-19th of october and shipped to me by the 22nd i think. But when i log into the apple online account i get a message saying its arriving on friday :S... i have the tracking information by TNT and it shows that its already left the factory and is on the way :S

Hey, nope nothing updated on my page but i did receive an e-mail telling me that the delivery would be later than the expected 9-10th which only came last night so bit obvious. To check i just put my order no. in UPS's tracking system.
I really hope it comes tmoz, got busy day but free all day Friday so i can do my review too, check out on youtube i guess. Ill do a imac/touch review which i can use for my media production course so shud be good hopes! Ill post the link once im sorted! Excited to get my hands on imovie 8 too.
Start looking at getting a new camcorder once this arrives, thinking of the sony hdr-sr1, hopefully pricedrops this year so ya neva kno!
Anyway shall update soon, wish me luck!

i would say any date is possible with apple, i've got an e-mail saying it will arrive on the 14th (a Sunday) when i'm sure all currier services are closed, if you did get information saying it would be later rather then earlier take that as the date m8ty (my info on the apple site still says the 9th-10th for delivery too).
