they're so cool about it. They be like "how can I help you?" "My mbp has non uniform tint" "do you want a return or a refund" (we have no Genius Bar here and only Apple online store)

One of the staffs even told me to replace because for a product that expensive, we should be satisfied in every possible way.

I was assuming in store. Makes sense

You're screens are not perfect because you have not calibrated it.
Green is way off on all of the screens but can be adjust perfectly with a calibration.
I'll post some image tomorrow (Swedish time) 12h night now.

How do you calibrate your screen?? System Prefrenses > Display > Color > Calibrate ??

I looked on my 13" MBP w/TB and I have a A033. From what I can tell, everything appears to be good on this screen. The screen does get pretty bright!

Here we go. It's hard to notice but it's there. The center right portion of the display is slightly warmer than the left side. I immediately noticed this in the Apple store but didn't feel like dealing with it at the time. I thought maybe it wouldn't bother me once I got home and started using my new device but it just makes me mad that for $1500 the colors/tint aren't evenly distributed. Also, I apologize in advance for the potato IQ and the reflection but even with these elements the difference in screen uniformity is still pretty apparent.

For those of you who have the 2016 MBP, does your screen exhibit similar properties? Use the link below to spot any differences in color/tint.

Just change it out for a new one bruh. Tell them the problem and if it's within the return period they should take it back.

Problem solved...

what did you use? external calibrating device? how can an external device play with the MacBook screen colors?! I don't understand how they link together.

Great update us

Will do! If this was an iPhone or iPad I'd probably let it slip, but not for a £3,000 laptop that'll I'll be using for the next few years.

It can't write anything low level. It makes adjustments by writing a profile of that display. It can update the description as shown to color managed applications (most these days) and it can slightly augment the levels sent to the framebuffer. It doesn't touch your display hardware directly, regardless of the software or device used.

If you're wondering how the software figures out what to write, these pucks tend to attach via usb. The software runs a set of patches, testing the overall range and the deviation from the expected result of each patch.

Thanks for the clarification thekev. it is clear to me now how it work. I was wondering cause I'm a photographer and color accuracy is important to me.

now sadly these devices doesn't fix the tint issue.

Yeah they have no way of doing so. Some display oems have produced methods of compensation for these things since the mid 2000s or so. Here's an example featured in a review. I used this one for a number of years (I'm no longer in a similar line of work).

I can recommend you the X-Rite i1display Pro that's a create pice of hardware and also that you use the CalMan software for it.
Then you 'll have a perfect color after that.

Thanks for the information guys. really helpful!

Looks like many have uneven tint, what about backlight bleed? Mine seems to have developed it in 3 of 4 corners, pretty certain it wasn't there when I got it.

Anyone post pics of theirs on a black background?

Thanks.

Guys,
I've noticed somehow that I have a small dent on my MBP 15".

As I have OCD, I have started checking for problems..
Found small backlight bleed..

Is this normal, or could I possibly go to Apple with this issue.
Only visible when 100% brightness and black screen.

Right down corner.

Thank you Guys.
Never checked that before. Wouldn't bother me if I hadn't switched to 100% brightness while watching Netflix.

I'm way after returning window and I honestly do not have time to wait for a replacement/repair.

OK, so now I'll speak from my heart. As a Display calibrator I'm getting a little upset for how people are returning computers because of the screen.
Backlight bleeding is a normal behaviour for a LCD display, also how often do you look att a 0 black and 100 white pictures over the hole screen?
If your a professional photo then I do really hope that you have a other screen then the MBP if not, then your not a pro simple as that.

The uneven tint is because of the Anti-glare filter thats my guess, because when I do a reading with my prob the prob don't show any errors.
I got a little pink in my left upper corner if I watch it a little from the side I can see it, and also that is expected behaviour.
BUT if it's really really much then it's not and you should exchange it.

Is that dead pixel in the center, just bellow your ipad's apple logo, or does it come from the camera?

Mine is way worse than that, will post pic. 3 of 4 corners on mine.

It was made by the camera.

No need to worry then i guess.

I'm from Warsaw, Poland and this laptop is just super expensive. Like 5 or 6 average salaries here, therefore i would expect nothing less than perfection.

Hello guys. I already got one replacement because of the rattling sound (also it had little scratch right out of the box). This one also have that sound sometimes but way softer.
So on the screen of this the second one laptop I can see the light yellow middle and the darker cold bluish/grayish white on the right side. Should I try to replace it again?

Tree test (but in life I almost can't see the red left side)
