I used to be with Sprint; the last phone I had was the Touch Diamond (HTC). It's about 4" tall, 2" wide & a half inch thick. And it's light; weight 4oz.

I was able to get the phone activated on boost. I don't know if it's the smallest phone but I like it. Works perfectly.

I haven't tried this, but I've got an old touch diamond as well. I can't imagine finding a phone that is much smaller.

If I understand this correctly, I can just hard reset the phone to clear out any old junk and then I should be ready to go?

What is a "clean" esn? I assume since I've only used my phone when I was on contract with Sprint that I have one.

How is the Robostars getting them onto Boost if they need flashed? I'm not seeing Mifis on Boost's website, so where are they getting the firmware to put on them? Also I'm seeing the Mifis going for like $40 with supposed clean ESNs on eBay right now, if the flashing software is out there online somewhere, I'd rather pocket the difference and do the flash myself.

Pretty sure the're flashing them similar to flashing phones to cricket/metropcs. the windows mobile phones on sprint2boost.com dont need to be flashed because boost allows those esn's to be activated. you can do it yourself instead of paying sprint2boost.com but youll have to find a rep that will allow. But android phones and mifis is a different story, sprint doesn't allow their esns to be on boost so people like robostars "flash" them. You can look on ebay for "flash evo to boost" or "Flash to boost" they charge like $60 and might be able to flash mifis to.

A clean ESN is one that is eligible for activation on the network....the phone wasn't reported stolen, or the carrier didn't flag is as having an unpaid balance, etc...

Based on what you stated, I'd wager your ESN is clean.

I restored my HTC Touch Diamond to factory ROM (available on the HTC support site). The restore is useful to clear out everything & start fresh.

Once restored, I activated it with the Boost PayGo. Works perfectly.

I haven't really used it much to be honest...got it most for traveling since it's "pay as you go" @ .35 p/day.

But - the times I have used it I've seen ~ 1.5 down, give or take a bit. Up has been less than 1, mostly around 750.

I'm Denver, and Sprint's service seems to vary widely on location. Sometimes great and other times not so. But for my iPad and to have data when I need it, it serves the purpose.

I used this site in my process to get the unlimited data for $.35/day. You should also check out Howardforums.com.

I'm also not using the web everyday, only when traveling and the kids need to get online or if the power goes out in the house, we can use this to get internet on our laptops. For $.35 a day, it's worth it. I certainly am not taking advantage of the unlimited data.

For those of you asking about using Mifis with this technique, the OP of the thread about making a custom one out of a Mogul posted about this.

Also, I've tried to swap in 3 different ESNs, 1 for a MiFi, 2 for an air card, and they all would not swap in on Boost. :/

It might be possible, but I haven't seen someone figure it out yet.

I just need to get a couple of accounts set up for my kids, then I will swap the handset for the HTC touch pro2 and free up the MEID DEC.

I dont care if the phone even works, just need enough to get the phones set up.

I called Boost at 8:30 Pacific time (they close at 9).

I just told the guy I needed to swap a handset and only mentioned a Sprint Phone (not the specific model) and he gave me the number to put the phone in a mode to program the phone number.

As that was going through the provisioning process, I told him I had another to do.

We got the second one done at 8:59, and I could tell he was kind of rushed to get off the phone.

Both HTC Touch Pro2 phones now work on Boost mobile.

seemingly so for now...yes. no guarantees it won't change tomorrow.

also your $$ in your paygo account does expire tho after 90 days...you have to keep topping it off to keep it from doing so.

there's a huge thread at HowardForums about Boost PayGo. You might want to read up about it & decide if the service is right for you.

For $25 bux I'd think your only choice is to wait around and see if you win an auction unless you find a phone on Craigslist or a local pawn shop.

I decided to install wmwifi router instead and that works great with my ipod touch, ipad, and laptop. It's going to cost $30 after the trial expires, but worth it now that I can use data for $.35 a day. If you can figure out how to get the htc wifirouter app to work, let me know
