seems like ATT closed or fixed it. no more successful stories.....

I submitted one this morning. Still showing as pending.

Generally those go through it seems. I've had 3 or so done in the past 3 weeks and all came back unlocked.

If i want to unlock the phone but still use it with AT&T unless i go out of country will it be the same 2 year contract with same plan?

I have an iPhone 6 plus purchased in October of last year and under contract. Mine was unlocked on the 2nd try.

I kept getting the message that I had not completed the payments on my Next plan even though a week earlier I paid the phone off at AT&T. I had to call tech support for ATT and they manually pushed the unlock thru, they say they have trouble sometimes with the Next programs only because their payments systems do not always display the correct info, even though my Bill showed I owed nothing. It was annoying trying to chase it down for a week and a half but done now, selling 5S and getting a Black 6 this weekend with 64GB, plan on getting an Apple Watch eventually for my workouts providing they are accurate and work efficiently.

Tried multiple times both via gophone and also current customer option. For those who used gophone option, do you have to have a gophone number? thanks

I've gotten a 6 Plus and a 5S unlocked.

I have a 5S pending waiting for update in the system. I have a 5S that's been rejected several times that I'll try again after the pending 5S.

All phones are under contract.

With such mixed results being posted, I'm starting to think that account standing and tenure might affect whether a request is approved or not.

I read this on another thread. Could this be an issue as to why some are being refused an unlock? Just throwing this out there.

4 times i was refused unlocks from AT&T because they had no record of the imei # ever being used on their network. the minute i went into the AT&T store and gave them my sim card and asked them to put the imei on my account, my phones all became magically eligible to be unlocked.

from my failed unlock requests, i think as long as the phone is not stolen, they don't care or even keep track of your imei # after you sim card gets activated

i go to eBay
i buy a iPhone 3gs
i put in my sim
i ask them for an unlock
' were sorry, we have no record of this phone ever being used on our network '
i go to AT&T store and tell them to put the imei on my account
they give me a stupid line about you don't need to do that
i ask them to do it anyway
i put in a new unlock request
and it gets granted

I had att unlock my iPhone 6 and I still owed a few hundred left in payments on next. So At this point not sure what the deal is.

P.S. They also unlocked my iPhone 5s that I still owed on too. So I don't know if that means anything.

I received the Congratulations you are unlocked email from AT&T on Monday and did the restore (I never saw the unlocked message on iTunes) but every time I put in either a foreign or t-mobile SIM card I get activation required.
Anyone had the same issue?

It means your iphone is not unlocked. Otherwise you would be able to activate the iphone with any sims.

Does it let you activate it with the tmobile sim?
Just plug it in itunes or connect to wifi and see if it activates with the foreign sim.

I tried everything and it doesn't.I would think two days later at&t has marked my imei as unlocked with apple's servers.
