Which option should I use, if I've got someone else's contract phone? I'm not AT&T's customer, but I've got 2 simcards. When I checked "Non-AT&T Mobility customer", they rejedted my request immediately 3 times. With "Prepaid / GoPhone®" i entered AT&T wireless number from one of my SIM and it took them about 10hrs to reject. Is there any other option I can try?

Same problem. I went with a service recommended on here: http://attunlocker.us/ Of course it's not free, but I've been trying for over 20 days with probably 70 attempts.

"If one were to make many attempts I would say premium is your only hope because after certain # of attempts the IMEI becomes flagged in the system and will auto deny immediately and none of the cheap services can unlock it at that point.

Unless service specifically states "Premium" or "100%" -- your just wasting your time if you are hoping for any of cheaper services to unlock it.

Economy / In contract services are solid but if you have messed around with your IMEI on the AT&T request system by entering wrong / random info, the odds of those services failing are high."

---- this was all according to samunlocks, last I spoke to them about a week 2 weeks ago.

And what about cheaper methods that can be found on ebay? Sellers claim, that they're able to unlock even contracted phones for 20 bucks.

Got my iphone 6+ unlocked via ATT on the first try!!! 2 year contract signed on launch date of the 6+.

WOW Cant believe it worked!.

The cheap ones on ebay go to the att.com/deviceunlock and submit it for you. I questioned a guy on eBay and says that's what he does and if it doesn't work he refunds you. The more expensive premium services are different. I'm waiting for mine but I noticed on a IMEI check on my phone now says that AT&T doesn't recognize the IMEI right now. We'll see what happens once it's unlocked.

Maybe someone who is AT&T's customer could submit unlock for me? I can only try with gophone or no customer options.

Be aware that they can flag your IMEI and I think you will be denied just because you've submitted too many unlock requests. A couple people mentioned it earlier on in this thread.

yes that's absolutely true. i ran into this when i tried to unlock a PAID OFF iPhone 5S. I tried to unlock it a couple days after paying it off and it was denied. There was a problem in my account - the IMEI was still attached to my line (as opposed to my new iPhone). So they fixed it and advised to resubmit. So i did and a couple days later it was denied AGAIN because they said i have to wait until the buyers remorse period on the new iPhone 6 was over (2 weeks). So i waited 3 and re-submitted, and it was immediately denied. like within seconds.

I had to call customer care, do an escalation ticket, wait for weeks for them to investigate, etc. Apparently it does automatically flag and deny after too many requests.

anyways i got it unlocked, but it took 6 frigin weeks.

I sent a request in using the AT&T portal, and within 2 minutes I got the e-mail to start the process. After clicking the link to confirm the unlock, 10 minutes later at most I got the e-mail confirming the unlock.

I still have to get home tonight and do a backup restore to actually unlock, will report back when I do get this done.

i have a theory about what's happening here. When you got your iPhone 6+, did you activate it? Or did you just put your old SIM in it and restore it?

By activating i mean, did you actually call the 800 number and activate the new SIM that came with it?

When I got my iPhone 6+ it came with it's own SIM card and I activated it following the standard AT&T new iPhone activation. There was zero SIM swapping, and no it was not purchased as an unlocked phone.

I just performed a sim swap. Mine unlocked on the first try FWIW

It took about 2.5 business days, but the phone is unlocked by ATTUnlocker.us. Stuck in my Tmobile SIM and it works like a champ. For the price of $50, they do the work for you. If the AT&T Unlock Portal doesn't work for you, definitely try ATTUnlocker.us.

Good luck :)

I have been thinking about ATTUnlock since I tried it 3 times and don't want my phone to be flagged or some such thing.

I am seeing a few success stories about them, but has anyone's request failed and did they get their money back?

Looking for answers.

Thanks much :)

That's because it's not paid off.
Yes I know that but that's what this thread is all about, NEXT devices or devices still under contract. :)

I paid much more to unlock my ATT phone with theofficialunlocks. Had it done in 3 days. I was happy with there service and sent them 2 verizon contract phones to unlock and they gave me a discount.

Yup, iPhone 6+ on AT&T Next is now UNLOCKED :D
