No new iWeb?

Maybe Apple made their new website with an internal version of the new iWeb...no.

iMovie and iPhoto showed up as free updates for me this morning. I don't use iWork, but it looks like other people are getting those as free upgrades now too.

Yeah, same here. I didn't have any previous version of iPhoto or iMovie but I just had to click Accept and Install and voila.
Didn't get any payment on my credit card neither.

Oh nice! I had iLife from the DVD that came with my macbook pro in 2011. Nice of Apple to give it out to everyone. Looks like yesterday's theme of "free and today" should have been "free and today. But for some, tomorrow."

It's the iWork suite that has been stripped of most scripting support. From what I've read it's Apple's lack of support for AppleScript that has many third party developers dropping support too. Not good if you like AppleScript.

I don't believe there is any change in AppleScript with Mavericks per se though.

thats a huge shame. big applescript fan and i wish was a much more capable scripter but proud of the few ive done.

apple often totally disregards its customer base but what alternatives do the 3rd party devs give?

So I've never bought iWork, I only had the trial. This morning I see I had 4 updates, and the iWork apps were 3 of them (this being a 2009 MBP, definitely not purchased after October 1, 2013.) I downloaded them and looked at them... definitely not trials. What gives? Not that I'm complaining!
I just tried that. downloaded a trial version of iWork then upgraded from the app store for free. must be a bug

Should projects that I start on iPhoto on my Mac be synced with iCloud to give me the option of finishing them on my iPhone?

Just tried that and it is not working.

everybody must be on a download frenzy of iWork 09 trail now :D i wonder how long before apple figures this one out.

Yeah, you don't need to repurchase any of the iWork applications. I have them installed on both my MacBook Air's from the CD and I just updated them with the AppStore for free.

On a side note. The AppStore has been acting strange and tells me I need to re-update things that I just updated.

Where I can find this trial?
I have original CD with iWork 09 and no free update :(

Works now, just set language to English and reboot your computer. :D

Then you can get the latest updates for iWork and iLife. good luck

Regarding users like myself, that had iLife and iWork DVDs and difficulty installing the new upgrades:

I'd like to thank all the posters that clued me in on creating a test account, updating all iLife and iWork apps in the test account, and then switching back to my main user account and updating there-- it worked flawlessly! Also, after I updated on my main user account, I can now see all the iLife and iWork apps in the purchased tab in the MAS!

Thanks!

Guess I wasn't as lucky as some of you.
I woke up this morning and all I had waiting for was Garage Band
as an update.

Thanks to all for the great tips given.
I d/l a trial of iWork as suggested and rebooted my iMac,
sure enough I had some updates.

This is probably a stupid question but does this mean that my trial version of iWorks is now a full version that won't expire in 30 days??

How can I get iPhoto and iMovie?

Go to the MAS and select the purchased tab; if you see the apps that you updated on the list, you're good to go-- forever. If not, it'll most likely be temporary.

Am I the only who's pissed that they moved the format toolbar to the right side of the app in Pages? It's so annoying because I am so used to having Pages take up half the screen and Chrome take the other half for research. Now I can't evenly divide the screen

Is this some sort of Mavericks-only benefit? I'm stuck on Lion and have both iWork and iLife installed but can't update either of them

Getting NON-APP STORE iWork to update to 2013 on my Mavericks. THIS WORKED FOR ME.

I have iWork '09 (was that the last one?!?) and had gotten it as a download (NOT an app store download, maybe trial download then purchase, maybe trial than purchase CD?) and I was having problems getting it to update after updating to Mavericks.

IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN COINCIDENTAL, but I'd tried a few different things (in their own folder, out of the folder and checked the plist) and rebooted a few times but no luck. I finally saw a recommendation to reinstall one of the old iWork '09 updaters. Here's the links at Apple.

So I updated, once I rebooted my one machine, it worked fine and updated to the new versions. I also ran it on the other machine and I'm pretty sure I did not reboot and when I next relaunched the app store, it worked on that one too. FYI, it's was 398 MB and was slow to run (even on my MB Air).

It might have been coincidence, and it just finally worked. But that's when it worked for me.

It LOOKS like it's in the system as a puchase, but the date column isn't labeled: is that purchase date (I didn't buy it yesterday) or is it an updated date (my iMovie was updated yesterday, but the date is still old) is the question? I didn't see it in there yesterday, but I heard they were having problems. So I'm not sure if Apple has flagged it as an app store app that I "own" or it's just updating the software on my machine; just in case, I'll be sticking the above update on my backup drive (with other purchases) so if a machine ever dies I can get it going again.

Maybe if i'd just been patient, it'd have worked. I don't know.

(Reposted from one of the other threads but people are talking about these problems in both).

Today, I had successful MAS upgrades for non-MAS versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. Also zero problems with iPhoto and OS X 10.9 updates yesterday.
