someone mentioned that they've talked to chat reps about 20 times and have gotten the same answer. Yes you can pick up when the cc opens. And no a first delivery attempt will not be made.

I also spoke to a representative and they confirmed the same thing.
He was very quick to respond... I'm sure they are getting this question repeatedly :p

:d

Now I used my departure scan to find the plane my watch is nestled in... I've officially lost it.

I wonder who has the more stressful job tonight: Apple reps or UPS reps? :D

UPS. I'm due in an hour early tomorrow (I start at 1am) and have to help coordinate 30,000 packages just out of my hub to the right trucks, plus get ALL the hold for pickup's pulled.

Bonus Points: all the watches I'll be seeing? Not a one of them is mine. I'm still in processing purgatory.

Think I'm jealous. You betcha.

I've got two UPS tracking numbers, one for each watch. Both are in Harrisburg, PA. I used the UPS My Choice site to hold them at the local distribution hub where the trucks are loaded from. Thanks for the tip on the UPS app. I will try to see if I can pick it up around 8am before work. I've had some issues in the past where UPS came early with iPhone pre-orders because they were so busy instead of the typical 6-7pm.
See you tomorrow lol

At least you are level-headed about it. I've seen some people act crazy this week.

That sucks. My wife's watch should be coming tomorrow but I don't know when I'll get mine. So do you think we'll be OK if we selected hold for pickup? Thanks.

Oh, I want it like crazy and more than likely somebody's box is gonna have my drool all over it :)

But, what can I do? Bitch, moan, groan and complain? Gets me nothing and won't expedite my order. Can't change to a model with more availability, so I have to sit and chill.

So, I'll live vicariously through all YOUR deliveries knowing (hoping/praying/wishing) that mine would hurry the hell up.

I saw a similar UPS flight going to San Antonio, which is where I'm at. I wonder if that's my watch.

That's what I'm saying though, why complain? I'm a huge Apple fan as well, but it's just a watch. Part of my attitude may be due to the fact that I got into WWDC again and I'd take that versus first day Apple Watch any day of the week.

So on the chat page, UPS states "Due to the restrictions set by Apple, UPS is unable to route your package to another address." Clicking more information, the page states "My Apple Watch is on the way, can I make alternate delivery arrangements? Yes, but please note that Apple has requested that your package is signed for at the time of delivery or you can sign the Apple e-notice to have the package released." I tried going to my order page but could not find the pre-signature link. I remember it was sa PDF that should be printed in the past, but UPS says its an electronic release. No idea what is going on anymore.

In your estimation, what percentage of total packages coming through your location will be pick-ups? Are most locations around the country similar in size to yours? Just curious, I want to know what I'm in for tomorrow morning.

I don't think Apple is allowing a pre-sign option of their website for the Apple Watch. UPS probably just taking protocol from previous iPhone releases.

Do you any of guys that selected hold for pickup show delivery date show unknown when you click the live chat option of the bottom of tracking page?

Someone on another thread called Apple and they emailed the release. Said it was a glitch it wasn't showing on the order page.

We don't have a solid number yet, but I'm guessing based on their last launch that 1/3 of them will be pick up. Fanboys (of which I am one), don't want to wait for the goodies and secondly there are thieves out there. They know when Apple launches and they'd be dying to know what one of the boxes looks like so they can make off with one.

For the record, I wouldn't tell Jesus himself what one of them looked like. A) I like my job and want to keep it. B)How would I feel if that got out and somebody's watch got pinched? I'd feel like hammered crap. I wouldn't want that to happen to mine, so I won't set anyone else up either.

My hub is a little bigger than average. Our max capacity is 32,000 packages per a 5 hour shift.

Hold for pickup is the smartest option you can choose. Less moving parts, no possible delays in getting the package.

Can someone verify that we are allowed to hold for pickup? Earlier on in this thread, some users mentioned that Apple will not allow for this option unless delivery has already been attempted at least once.

Does this mean those of us that have hold for pickup "confirmed" will actually be getting a delivery attempt at the shipping address first?

I'm confused..

You can hold for pickup through the UPS site. However, you need to do it SOON because Watches have already hit some destination cities and once it's on the truck you won't be able to hold it at a UPS center.

I have mine being held at my local UPS hub and I fully expect to pick it up in the morning on my way to the office.

From what we've been told from ups representatives through the ups live chat is:
If you selected pickup from a customer center you are good to pickup when they open. Just be sure to check your tracking status to make sure it's ready for pickup.

Stupid question - I can't seem to print out an order release form from UPS. My teenage daughter will be home tomorrow - can she sign for me?

Depends on your driver, really. Hopefully she's at least 18. If it were me, type out a note explaining she can sign, sign it, and leave your ID or at least a copy of it. It's probably overkill, but at least he/she will know it's all legit and OK to leave with your daughter.

My local office said that pick-ups are only available from 4:30 pm - 8 pm, so I'd check before you go in.

I really think it is up to the individual locations on what they will allow.

My order had the button... I clicked it and it gave me the document to print out.

How do you know if it's an ACTUAL customer center? Many of the stores on my map have the UPS logo.

I checked with both an online customer service rep via chat and I had the number for the local depot at my desk at work so I called directly. BOth told me the same information.
