When I worked at one the customers package would arrive at the ups store the same day it was due for delivery to their home. It kind of depends on the drivers route if the package would arrive at the store earlier in the day or at the same time they picked up the ground packages from the store(usually an hour or two before closing). They get scanned into the stores computer and you get notified plus your tracking status changes to let the customer know its at the ups store. If for some reason it arrives later in the day Friday you should definitely be able to pick it up Saturday from the UPS store. I think its kind of a computer glitch people get since weekends aren't considered delivery days at UPS

Someone asked earlier about the address on their ID not matching the delivery address. Is the info I got correct in that you can bring a utility bill, or a copy of your lease with your ID as proof that you are who you say you are?

Each store can be a little different(never understood why) but we would like the last name on the package to match the ID and if the address on the ID wasn't the same, some kind of utility bill to prove you live or reside at the address on the package.

Well it seems that my copy of the lease will work for me, and the utility bill will work for the guy that posted a few hours ago. Good to know. Now let’s get Friday here! 8:30 can’t come soon enough!

I just changed my delivery to hold for pickup at my local UPS CC! My mom's the account holder so the package is under her name. Have the same last name & address on my ID but I'm still a little worried UPS won't release the phone to me. If it doesn't work out thankfully I can just head back over there with her once she's off work. I'll still receive it a lot earlier than if I were to have it delivered at home so that's fine with me :) Friday can't come any sooner!

Make sure you have the tracking number from either an email or text message as well as your ID.

Confirmed delivery for Premium MyChoice UPS members doesn’t work for iPhones.

That’s according to the UPS rep I spoke with just now. He explained that because of the high volume, the only option I had was the hold for pick up route. Since my Customer Care Center hours are 1 pm - 6 pm and because UPS frequently screws up I decided to leave well enough alone.

For those of you who’s Customer Care Centers open at 8 am I say . . .
Yeah! Have fun tomorrow, wish it were me :D

Alright, I just requested that my iPhone X be held for pick-up at the closest CC. And I got that dreaded “order will be available for pick-up on November 6th” message. Based on what others are saying, it seems like most people get that message immediately after the request. So, nothing to worry about right? I’m going to be stalking the UPS tracking updates and crossing my fingers that all goes well and I can pick up the package on Friday morning!

Strange, the UPS I just spoke with offered to change mine to hold for pick up and said there would be no delay and that it would be available for pick up on Friday. But, since my center doesn’t open till 1 pm that all that went out of the window. Plus there is also the possibility that he didn't know what he was talking about. So, I’m sticking with the by the end of the day 7 pm crap.

Update: Ms. Flip Flop changed her mind and decided to go to the UPS Customer Care Center tomorrow at 1 pm. I was driving around, not too far from the UPS Center, so I decided to stop by. Looked pretty empty today (LOL) so I thought I'd give it a chance and toss caution into the wind.

In the end I thought . . . on one side of the scale we have a 1 pm pick up (provided UPS doesn't mess up) and on the other side a very likely late evening delivery (past history).

Someone posted that there pickup date became 11/6, rather than 11/3. This has me hesitant to change my packages to hold for pickup.

Typcially if you have it shipped to a store it will be 11/6. If you have it held at the actual distribution center it will stay 11/3.

Ah, I’m an idiot. So I used UPS MyChoice and sent it to a UPS store instead of the Customer Care Center, now I have a delivery of 11/6. Do y’all think I’ll be able to change this before tomorrow? I knew I should have put the customer care center on there. Can I call UPS? Thanks.

I did the same thing and was able to change it on the full site.

I'm still waiting for my status to reflect my hold request.I received a notification that it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow by end of day.

I've been debating this all week. I finally pulled the trigger and had it delivered to the CC near me. They open pretty early so I may be able to grab it before work.

Question: Are iPhone launches handled differently than other Apple product launches as far as shipping goes? When the new Apple TV came out, I was able to send it to the UPS Store next to my house and it didn't change the delivery date at all. I was going to do that with the phone until I saw it add the extra business day on.

Mario R.: Just a moment while I look into that for you.

Mario R.: The package will be ready for pickup tomorrow when the customer center opens.
WOOOOO
9am

Decided to pick mine up at an access point near my place. Hoping the claims from posters here that it will be a delayed delivery are not true for my package. Worst case the store is open on Saturday and UPS in San Francisco delivers on Saturday so I'll probably get mine by then.

This is what my packages show as of now.
This is exactly what mine shows. If I don’t get an update I’m going to have to stop by my local UPS and see what they say. If the request didn’t process and the phone will still be delivered at home I need to know so I am there for it.

It won't change to ready for pick up until it is scanned in at that CC tonight. Once they scan it tonight, they will see that request and put it aside for will call and not loading it into a delivery truck.

Mine also said the same thing but they did give a print out confirmation that it will be available to pick up tomorrow when CC open.

Thank you for clearing this up!

Oh okay, thank you for the explanation!

That looks like you're good to go. In the morning it will say something like "the UPS My Choice delivery change was completed". That means the package is ready for you to pickup.

I’m more excited now than I’ve been all week!

Yeah, I'm still holding out the delivery window option will pop up once it gets further down the road so to speak. I'm a little queasy about doing the CC hold only because sooo many packages tomorrow the one that accidentally gets put on the truck is mine and having to wait the entire weekend to retrieve it... bleh. So I'm in the same shape as you I guess.
