I wish the opposite, FedEx center on my commute route while UPS CC requires 3 miles opposite direction. ;)
But you can't do hold for pickup with FedEx. Many folks have been complaining about this today. Apparently its an issue with the carriers and Apple. But what's weird is you can do it with UPS, seemingly without any issues

That is cool for you, but people should be prepared/ informed on what could possibly be the rules.
Yea UPS has some 'standard' rules across the board I guess when it clearly states on the website if you have a photo ID with a matching name and address on it, that appears on your package, it will suffice. I'll never get how in black and white option 1 for picking up on the website has one thing and I can potentially be asked for something more? Such a joke

I had mine re-routed to a UPS store between my office and work since I won't be home for delivery. There are conflicting delivery dates listed at both Apple *and* UPS. In some places it says 11/3 while in others it says 11/6. Since there is now a "delayed" listing I'm just planning on Monday which is not a problem at all.

I envision massive lines and grumpy people at both the Apple store and the bigger UPS CC location so it's worth it to me to avoid that. Granted, there will undoubtedly be a line at the UPS store but I'm betting (hoping) it's much smaller.

Ok, was just double checking everything and I just noticed this "Address Corrected" status from yesterday on my Apple Store order page that I haven't seen before.

It seems that my request to re-route to the UPS Store early enough, a day after I pre-ordered, ensured that my delivery goes straight to the store on Friday with no delays. I feel much better now.

Jealous I did it the second I got the notification ups it just left Kentucky and nowhere do I see that it’s going to the store I paid for. So tomorrow will be a surprise I suppose.

Same boat here. Requested on the 29th and never really got a confirmation of any sort. Guess I’ll see if it updates overnight. If not I’ll just go to the store and if they didn’t process the request I’ll just go wait at home I suppose lol

Atleast you can do that. It’s headed to my house in mass. I’m in Florida lmao.

Just a thought . . . on the operating hours of the UPS Customer Care Center here ( Mon. - Fri. 1 pm - 6 pm).

Maybe that's why my UPS deliveries are made so late (late afternoon through the evening ).

Fed Ex always delivers early in the day (morning - early afternoon).

Yeah, I'm still holding out the delivery window option will pop up once it gets further down the road so to speak. I'm a little queasy about doing the CC hold only because sooo many packages tomorrow the one that accidentally gets put on the truck is mine and having to wait the entire weekend to retrieve it... bleh. So I'm in the same shape as you I guess.

Don't hold your breath. I was told, because of the sheer volume of deliveries related to the iPhone, that this option will not be available.

Friday can’t come soon enough!
Just a few hours to go. The hours you spend in deep slumber don't count since you are not fully conscious. :p

Be prepared to wait. Last year I showed up at when they opened and they hadn't finished breaking down all the pallets. Had to wait about 45 min.

Hmm, I wonder when they planned to start delivering to those who weren't picking up there packages.

AND I just got another update from UPS.

Now it says Updated instead of Tentative for my delivery date! I'm now 99% certain I will get it tomorrow.

My screen looks the exact same as yours. Only thing that had me concerned was that the request is still "pending"

EDIT - Just noticed I have the "Address" corrected screen too when tracking through Apple's link! That's reassuring for sure! Can not wait for tomorrow to get here.

I held mine for pickup at the Lawnside NJ CC, this is also a major hub for South Jersey. I will be going after breakfast as long as everything works out (gosh I hope it does.). I did this once when the original Apple Watch came out, as Apple required signature and no body was home to sign for it. Everything worked out, I picked it up on launch day. I did it this time because that wait for my 8 Plus last month was until like 5 or 6pm. If UPS was coming at 12-2 like they used to I wouldn't bother.

By and large, the best thing to do is to be home. I know that's easier said than done.

Depending on how big your hold site is, it can be quite a hassle to pick up at a hold site. If it's like a distribution center, be ready for a mega headache on launch day. Patience is key.

I'm sure it depends on conditions at your local hold site, but I've done this three or four times without any issues or more than a few minute's wait.

I can't sit at home all day on delivery day. But a UPS CC Center situated right next to the airport that the cargo planes land at is just a few minutes from my office. It is only open from 3:30 - 6 pm, but I'm at work anyway, so I just have them held there then swing by before I go home. Though in this case I need my wife to meet me there since she is the primary on the account. But her office is also just a few minutes away.

When we show up, we give our names, show our IDs, the guy goes to a shelf in the back room and brings them out a minute or two later. They are already pre-sorted and waiting for us.

I don’t mind waiting. Maybe I’ll stop for breakfast. UPS delivers late to my neighborhood so I’m opting for pickup this year. Thank you for the heads up.

So even though you have the same address and if you wanted a copy of her ID, you both have to be there to pick it up? It can’t be just you?

Looks like I’m boned for launch day pickup. Phone just got scanned in in east Boston. I had it rerouted to Florida.....I just submitted the reroute again best case sat more than likely Monday I’m guessing.

I think doing this causes a delay.

Has anyone's left Louisville yet? Mines been sitting there since 10:04am and has to make it to PA. Was hoping it'd get in earlier so the ups customer center would have it ready when they open at 8am

I got an arrival scan in Philly at 6:48

Mine left KY and just arrived to NM on route to Ontario CC, CA.

Mine made it do DFW at 3:49PM no change since then, but I'm pretty confident that it will make it to the CC before morning.
