I've never seen it not cause a 1 business day delay in pickup date if it is a UPS retail store. The website even tells you its gonna happen before submitting the request. Only pickup at a CC depot will allow for same day pickup.
Yup. Same day pickups must be done at a CC.

Guess neither one of us lucked out. I wonder why some customer care centers don't have morning hours of operation.
Yea only good thing is we know we'll have it no later than 1 on launch, which is better than most, plus the delivery would be most likely after 1 pm anyway

No adventure for me at the UPS Customer Care Center because they're not open in the morning. That doesn't do me any good. I'll take my chances with the confirm delivery time window.
 
I Work on weekdays during day so I always hold at the UPS Store by me. Trick is to request it early I think. I did it once that option was available. Hope this info Helps!

Yeah, it absolutely does not always get delayed. I hold packages at my local UPS Store all the time and the delivery date doesn't change. Obviously this isn't everyone's case, but to say it guarantees a delay isn't true.

Yep, my status actually just updated to include this, which it didn't indicate just a few hours ago:

"Deliver to a UPS Retail Location - The driver will deliver your shipment to the UPS Retail Location you requested."

I am assuming this is referring to the day of.
 
I'm having mine held at UPS CC. Will pickup around 9am when they open. Will save me a several hour wait and possible missing the driver.
 
My UPS tracking has a departure scan from Anchorage, Alaska. Would now be a good time to do a hold for pickup?

Ok so update from my post on page 7. I had it rerouted to my local UPS store and for my area, they said (on the phone) that it will be available after 1pm. Woohoo! Still lists exception on the app though.

I just changed my delivery to hold for pickup at my CC, which opens at 10a. Hope this works!
 
I also just changed my delivery to hold for pickup at my local UPS CC. Mine opens at 8:30am

I just submitted to have mine held at CC and it showed 11/6 date of availability. Hopefully when the gold goes through it says p/u for 11/3. It still says 11/3 on there now, but it also still says its being delivered to my house. Really hope I didn’t screw up. Has anyone had it held and then changed back to delivery and still received it on launch day?
 
If I remember correctly last time I held at CC it stayed in exception status until it was received by them.

My current one also shows exception so I’m pretty confident it will be fine

Glad I found your discussion about the exception. I was worried about mine for a sec. I called today and changed to pick up instead of delivery. But mine still has no change from departure from Alaska last night. So I am hoping it’s in Louisville with customs and cleared to depart tomorrow at some point and finally get updates from ups and Apple order status change to shipping.

I've been posting about mine. It's NEVER shown any sort of exception. Which I'm worried about.

I’d wait til atleast lunch tomorrow. If no change. Def call UPS cuz by that point your IPX should be en route to the center. Good luck and keep us updated in case any of if has issues like that. I just hope I didn’t mess mine up. I know “customs” have them hostage. Also could be just Apple and their holding at the main hubs til tomorrow to release them to be delivered Friday.

So far, I've called them twice, they say both times that I'll have it ready to pickup on the 3rd. But based on previous experience, and everyone else, I know to expect an exception to pop-up. Right now it just acts as if it's still on track for release day delivery. Only change is the tracking does show

I'm picking it up at the UPS CC I always get stuff from. I even went there to talk to them in person

Mine is also sitting on a last scan from Alaska at 4:30 Tuesday. I'm not worried yet, I'll get worried tomorrow afternoon if I haven't seen any change though.
 
Does the status ever change beyond "Delivery Change Requested: Hold for Pickup"? I haven't gotten any exception notices as far as I know, though I don't check constantly, and my delivery date never moved past the third. I made the request about 3 days ago over the phone with UPS.
