I thought about changing my hold request to a different store and hit the "Edit Delivery Hold" link on the tracking page, but when it brought me to the Delivery Hold Requests section of my My UPS page, it said there "are no current requests" for a delivery hold. Is this true for everyone?

Did anyone else receive a call from Apple to confirm delivery hold? Just received a call from Apple online saying that UPS needed to cofirm with them if I wanted my package held or rerouted.

Address was incorrect- Work street but Home city and state.

Confirmed that I wanted it held and she said she would pass it on to UPS.

My phones will be on this flight unless I missed another heading to Phoenix earlier, but this is the normal for Phoenix.

Ok, I remade the delivery hold request online and got an exception notice email. I know that's typical, but now the Ship To address in the email just says the city, state, and zip code of my town, not the actual street address of the CC I'm having it held at. Is that normal?

Back when my phones were still in China, I requested the phones be held for pickup at the local UPS Customer Center (I'm lucky - the airport and UPS CC is literally 2 min from my office). The UPS tracking page shows very little information to confirm this is still in place, but there is something.

The iPhone App gives no indication a hold was requested.

The UPS website does show "Delivery Change Requested: Hold for Collection" but doesn't confirm where. An email I received from UPS still says delivery scheduled to my home address.

I will assume all is well and wait for confirmation tomorrow. It's clear UPS skips some tracking steps when moving so many units. They just don't have time.

Same, so i called in and the lady told me it should update when it gets to the hub itself... at what time that is who knows but she told me to sit tight and wait for it

Pretty much in the same boat. I will wake up and it will either say "Out for Delivery" or "Ready for Pickup". At this point I just hope it ends up in the right state.

By and large, the best thing to do is to be home. I know that's easier said than done.

Depending on how big your hold site is, it can be quite a hassle to pick up at a hold site. If it's like a distribution center, be ready for a mega headache on launch day. Patience is key.

^^ this its not a cakewalk and barely more tolerable than an Apple Store (because at least you KNOW you have one guaranteed, if you can wait long enough to get it).

Also my advice: have your tracking number handy and easy to hand over. They start acting like babies if they have to lookup by name or address...

Like, don't get me wrong, you'll almost certainly get your device on time, but if you have any level of flexibility at work and can take a late lunch or something, being home is the better solution.

As a side note, I was shocked the Pixel phones didn't require a signature. Although, they don't appear to say "Google" on the box anywhere.

YMMV. Last time I picked up a phone at the UPS CC, there were only about 5 or 6 others there and I was in and out in just a few minutes. Way less chaotic than the Apple Store.

I live in an apt building with a broken buzz so it's really not an option. Is it really that bad?

I want to hold at ups but it’s under my brothers name do you think they will still allow me to pick it up we have the same address and last name but the first name is different. And he will be at work so I am the only one who can get it

That I get, too. I have done that for like Apple Watch. I think for iPhone 6 I had the craziest experience.

So, for me, Austin has a huge UPS distribution center, so it was a pain in the but. You will be fine, just keep your cool, you know? Sometimes (and I'm guilty of his) it can get a little crazy on iPhone day.

Ok guys just got off UPS chat. I made a hold request through the iPhone app and didn't get any confirmations or anything just this (attached) when I login through my choice on a computer that says hold for pickup. Chat associate said I can pick it up at the CC I originally requested tomorrow. I wanted to post what they said about the forms of ID, since my addresses on my ID's won't match my current address.

Seth V.: A government issued photo ID is required when shipping or picking up a package at a UPS Customer Center
ME: ok tomorrow right? and I have a drivers license with an address that doesn't match my current address. do I need anything else then
Seth V.: A military ID or a passport.
Seth V.: Two forms of identification will be needed.
ME: I don't think my passport has the current address either unfortunately
ME: does that matter if I bring both
Seth V.: No, the address doesnt have to match, just two forms of ID.

Hope that clears some of the questions earlier up. I had a hard time reading through it all.
