UPS Hold For Pickup

I have a case coming from Best Buy tomorrow via UPS... it’s been scanned for arrival 1 hour ago and now finally gives the option to hold it... but I wonder if I have it held at the CC where the iPhone is being held, will it be delayed? Or are UPS smart enough to have it ready to pickup in 12 hours with my iPhone?

Eh, just send it home... don't wanna complicate things further! Feel like they might be swamped tomorrow
 
I already had my iPhone X cases delivered last week and requested hold for pickup at my usual UPS CC hub which opens 8am. Previous years, I recall seeing other savvy people line up at the hub to pickup iPhone sized boxes. UPS delivers after 5pm in our neighborhood.

Ahhh same here! Which one are you guys heading to? I'm hitting up the mesquite one. I've called ups 3 different times and gotten three different answers on the status of my hold pickup, haha. Might just print off the presign for the door to be safe at this point. I'm going right at 7 when they open. Godspeed

i did that already hanging up but my phone just left the airport and is heading to the CC so i might be okay!

FW CC assuming I get the notice soon really wish it had been scanned there already
 
I spoke with a UPS rep, and he said that once it is at the CC hub it will just stay there. hoping this is the case.
 
I chatted with UPS as well, was told I can pick up the package as long as my I.D. address matches, even if it has a different name. Hopefully thats the case when I get there at 8am.

Yup, I talked to a rep and she said the same thing. She said if the names don't match then you need 2 forms of ID. Tbh i'm gonna bring a utility bill, passport, and a billing statement from T-mobile (with the name of the package on the statement) to be super safe. Last thing I want is to be turned away from picking up my phone tomorrow.

Rep told me today that because my request was made before it shipped that I’d get mine at the store tomorrow. Guess it remains to be seen, but...

My understanding from others here is that it MUST be the named individual, regardless of anything else.

I have not confirmed this with UPS or Apple, but it fits with Apple's policy at their stores. I've been denied in the past because of it.

Some have said you can bring in a utility bill, but I wouldn't want to test it.

I am not certain if the person who ordered or the primary name on the AT&T account needs to be the one who picks up, but we will both be there just to be safe.
 
Oddly enough mine landed at 5:30 this evening, then left again at 7:50. . . both times in Seattle. . . and the UPS CC is literally at the airfield. Not sure why, but as of 11:00 local, it still hasn't received another scan.

I did this last year with my Touch Bar MBP on release day. Instead of waiting till 4PM rolled around I picked it up at 7:30AM at the downtown LA UPS Hub.

My ID's address (and state) don't match the delivery address, but my name does. I showed them another piece of mail with my name on it plus the address and they let me have it. I've got my phone holding the same way for tomorrow.

But you can't do hold for pickup with FedEx. Many folks have been complaining about this today. Apparently its an issue with the carriers and Apple. But what's weird is you can do it with UPS, seemingly without any issues

What?! Didn’t know that. Only pick up repaired MacBook Pro a few months ago but iPhone launch looks like a different story now.

No. The tracking will say it’s ready for pickup once they have it ready. Destination scan just means it made it to its final hub stop.
 
Just woke up early and read through some posts and finally saw mine got arrival scan at ups cc I chose. But I also planned to go to Apple Store in opposite direction just for fun since I never go there on launch day.
