UPS My Choice Held for Pick Up on 9/19

Has anyone actually used the "Hold for Will Call - Package held for pickup at a UPS Customer Center" option and had their delivery date changed?

Nevermind.. not going to do this lol too worried it will mess something up. I'll just keep myself busy during the day.

I live in the largest (population) city in my state and the closest Apple Store to me is 193 miles away and in a different state (just looked it up). There's only one Apple Store in the state of KS and it's 194 miles (funny how they're practically identical distances from me, but in opposite directions).

Just changed my delivery to Hold for Will Call and it did not change anything. I can pick it up at 1000 am Friday instead of waiting for the ups guys who comes at 5-6pm all the time.
 
If I changed my delivery to pick up at the UPS Store, it would have changed my delivery to Monday, 9/22. If I did will call it would have been on this Friday, but that location of UPS has issues of sticky fingers.

I'm thinking I might just do a half day from work, hang out at home and set everything up. Or have my hubby go in a bit later into work. He works for himself, so he can do that! LOL
 
If you choose "Hold for will call", does it give you the option of where to hold it? I live in Franklin, TN which is 30 min. outside of Nashville and there is a delivery center there that is closer than the Nashville one.

Did you choose ups acess pt or hold at ups customer center. Not sure which is which and don't want to delay the shipment. Thanks.

You want to pick the customer center to get it at the earliest time.

If you select an access point you will have to wait for the phone to be delivered there and it may not be available until later in the day or even Monday.
 
not to sound condescending, truly just asking here. If this your going this route did you feel this was better than just doing personal pick up at the store?

I thought I wanted to go this route also, I know my fedex guy takes till like 7pm on iphone release days from previous experience :eek: so I wanted to either send it to a friends job or do the hold for delivery.

Once i found out I could do personal pick up at the apple store I figured that was the best route, ymmv on which one is busier but I would expect your ups hub to be busy that morning as well.

with pick up option I can open the phone there, do a quick turn on make sure no screen broken or DOA and be omw.

I assume two of the answers is that in store pick up from apple was not available and secondly you ordered from the carrier so it had to be shipped?

i'm just curious to see if delivery is the best route for future years purchases :)
 
Has any noticed on the UPS site under "Contact UPS" at the top and then "Live Chat", there is information on iPhone Delivery Options. It says:

If you need to change the address on your package, there are 2 options available to you:

You may place the package on Will Call.
a) By placing a Will Call, the package will be available for pickup from the UPS Customer Center on September 20th.

b) A Customer Service Representative will be able to find the closest location and schedule your Will Call.



Can the phones be picked-up on the 19th or will you really need to wait until the 20th???

I agree it would have made more sense to do in store pickup but I was hoping Fedex would deliver instead of UPS because they take all day. Every time in the past it was Fedex and I would receive the iPhone by 11am. The only other option now for me is Hold for Will Call.

Same for me, I hate ups they always deliver to my house around 8 pm. Last year my 5S was delivered at 8:30. While fedex usually delivers in the morning.

It does not say anything about the 20th for me...

I spoke to two UPS Reps on live chat, and both confirmed to me that the phone can be picked up with will call on the 19th before any delivery attempt is made.

Yes - they must have just updated the page as I am now seeing other information like the other person said. I was worried that I couldn't pick it up but everything look ok now.
 
I have mine held and it says the 19th.

I just chatted with UPS and they indicated that the 19th is the day it will be available to pick up :)
