not to sound condescending, truly just asking here. If this your going this route did you feel this was better than just doing personal pick up at the store?

When I ordered through the Apple Store app Friday evening, none of the available phones (ones that showed 9/19 delivery) were available for pickup at either of my two local stores. So for me, the options were infonotice, leaving an iPhone on my porch, or picking it up on the way home from work.

I think he might be right if you look at the updated iphone delivery option it says the 20th. I think I am going to cancel will call

No. It is the local sorting/dispatch facility. Basically if you ask them to hold a package it never gets on a delivery truck. They just keep it at the facility for you to pick up.

Oh okay, I have an idea where that might be. Thanks for the clarification!

I can not find where it says anything about the 20th on the iphone delivery options screen...

My UPS facility is not even open the 20th.

UPS has updated the website since I saw it this morning. The PDF file I attached is no longer there and has been replaced. It says that you can get it on the 19th.

Sorry for the confusion.

Just changed my delivery to Hold for Will Call and it did not change anything. I can pick it up at 1000 am Friday instead of waiting for the ups guys who comes at 5-6pm all the time.

I also just changed to Hold for Will Call and had my date stay the same. It confirmed the dates (when you could pick up by and when you had to pick it up by) before confirming the change, so maybe just try and see if the date moves, and if so, just don't hit confirm! Mine opens at 7:30. And is 30 min. away. Plus LA rush hour. WORTH IT.

When I changed mine to will call, I received a Will Call confirmation that I printed and it showed this:

Package Available: Friday, 09/19/2014

I just spoke with another UPS Rep on chat who also confirmed 9/19 pick up. Seems that 9/19 is the official word for will call.

Did you choose ups acess pt or hold at ups customer center. Not sure which is which and don't want to delay the shipment. Thanks.

i looked up the access point thing (i didnt know what it was for sure, maybe you do), but it is like grocery stores etc, and i figured that would change the date or time. like at the customer center it's not getting on the truck, but for these access points, they still have to take it there, same as delivery i'd think? and then it turned out there werent any access points near me anyways haha

That's good it's the 19th because if you go to contact ups live chat under your tracking info there are 2 updates that say to different things on iphone delivery. Click on one and look all the way down on the left side it says date published and date updated with time. The one that says the 20th was update today at 12:44pm and the one that has no date was last updated at 9:34am. I hope the CSR are right.

I called one too and just did the same thing. Coincidentally, I just started as a part-time package pre-loader for the UPS facility where it's going to be held! Woohoo. I work from 3:30am-8:30am and then boom, I'll be able to pick up my iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Space Gray!

Apparently, Will Call packages never get on a truck and are held for the customer. However, I'm now concerned that there's going to be a crazy mess that day and the package will not be available at 8:30am when the Will Call opens. I have my main job to go to by 9:30am. First World Fanboy Problems

Do you click "Change Delivery" to move it to Will Call? I assume that you can cancel any changes before committing?

I so want to do this. I hope that it doesn't backfire "I'm sorry that you were given incorrect information, but you can pick up your Will Call package on 9/22"

Clicking change delivery brings up the options. There's no charge for will call. There is a charge to route it to a UPS Access Point (like a UPS Store).

On chat with UPS right now. Interesting note...if you order thru a carrier, they do not require a signature. It is left to the discresion of the driver.

Yes and yes. It gives you 3 choices I think: reschedule delivery, will call (at UPS customer center), or send to UPS access point (grocery stores, etc. that will hold it for you?). Then it gives you date options (like the range when you can pick it up, when you have to pick it up by), then you confirm. Hope that helps!

They are saying that best choice for my situation might be Same Day Will Call. They will deliver the package, if determine not safe, then you can request to pick it up when the driver returns to the station.

Very much. Thank you! :)

Now I know why 2 PDF are on the website one is for carrier delivery which they will make 1 attempt and than you can pick it up will call on the 20th. But for apple delivery it says signature required and hold for will call is the 19th.

According to my chat with UPS, they will leave without signature if Driver thinks ok. If not, will leave a notice saying when they will re-attempt delivery. If the driver doesn't leave it, then I just need to notify UPS before 7 pm (in my area) that I would like it held at the station when the driver gets back and I just go pick it up then that evening.

This happened to me with Fedex on an Apple delivery: they told me that they would hold it at the depot, and I could pick it up on the morning of delivery. I got there before the doors opened, but they'd put it on the truck, and it was out for delivery. I had to race back home.

Hi OP, I thought AT&T uses fedex for shipping, also I can't register to UPS my choice because I'm using my job address for shipping and I believe it only work for residential address.

I am signed in to UPS MY Choice (Premium). I see change delivery. Then it launches a pop-up to login to UPS My Choice, looping me back to the tracking page. No option offered to change. Something I am doing wrong? Thanks!

For the launch of the iPhone Apple has contracted UPS to deliver all iPhones in the U.S.

I tried to change my delivery method to Will Call but my UPS customer service center is only opened from 2p-6p, I just had a UPS packaged delivered to my house an hour ago (10:30am), so i'll take my chances on Friday, no point in waiting until 2pm.
