Why is this news? Pretty sure UPS just organizes the shipment updates by the local time, and this apparent shuffling is just happening because of time zones and the international date line…
I have the same notice.I'm experiencing exactly this. Except now there has been multiple delays. Was supposed to be delivered today, but as of yesterday morning it still hadn't left Asia, so I knew something was up. It was delayed until tomorrow, but now there is no delivery date at all.View attachment 657160

So now it has left Korea after 2 days while being held there for bad weather... destination.. Hong Kong. Really, UPS... REALLY.
Got the same damn thing. No severe weather, finally departed and its now at Hong Kong. Will it really arrive 9/23 like it said previously?
I got this 15 minutes ago. After my iPhone 7 plus was stuck in Incheon, Korea due to the "mechanical failure" for a day, I just got an update stating:
"Your package was released by the clearing agency"
"Clearance complete."
Anyone else get this? Is it finally on its way to states? or has it been here in the states and just got cleared by customs?
The flight UPS6099 got delayed, but another flight just left ICN to PANC. Even though UPS tracking information has an Arrival Scan at Hong Kong, there is not UPS flight from ICN to Hong Kong...

Same exact thing happened to me... China > Korea (delayed due to weather...) > Hong Kong > departed, who knows where it's going nextSo now it has left Korea after 2 days while being held there for bad weather... destination.. Hong Kong. Really, UPS... REALLY.
Korea? Ha.Same exact thing happened to me... China > Korea (delayed due to weather...) > Hong Kong > departed, who knows where it's going next

No, nothing a bit more going on... happens every year with the launch of a new iPhone. The only exception is those that are having weather delays or something, which I just happened to miss. But for me, it took two days between the Korea hub to Portland Oregon. I had a friend who took 3 days (his being delivered tomorrow.) Here is my screenshot below...
also, when I ordered 6 minutes after midnight the night it went on sale, it was scheduled for delivery between September 27-29.

An increasing number of customers who ordered the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus have noticed irregular movement on their shipments, as confirmed by multiple tipsters who have contacted us. The peculiar UPS tracking information has also been documented by several Twitter and Reddit users.

MacRumors reader Daniel G., for example, has seemingly seen his iPhone 7 Plus order move between Shanghai, China and Anchorage, Alaska, only to end up back in China. The shipment even made a brief stop in Osaka, Japan, before heading to Louisville, Kentucky en route to Long Island City in Queens.Other MacRumors readers said likewise in discussion topics titled "My iPhone is on a travel adventure" and "Waiting for UPS."
Reddit user AlphaAnger, too, shared a nearly identical scenario:Twitter user Minton, who shared the UPS tracking information pictured above, has seen his iPhone order travel from Zhengzhou, China to Incheon, South Korea to Louisville, Kentucky, at which point it was seemingly sent back to Hong Kong. The entire movement took place within a span of just three days.
Minton is not alone, as several Twitter users have noticed similarly irregular movement on their iPhone orders this week.
In some cases, shipments have moved between the U.S. and Asia in only a few hours, which is unrealistic even when accounting for time zone differences. UPS has allegedly told some customers the irregular movement is related to paperwork, but weather and mechanical issues could also be involved.
Whatever the underlying reason may be, the issue appears to be slowing down iPhone deliveries for at least some customers in the United States. Some customers on Twitter have complained that their new iPhone is "stuck in Korea," while others have vented their frustrations towards UPS's customer service account.

Looks like mine just left HKG.
Fingers crossed that, as mentioned upthread, UPS will deliver it tomorrow (Saturday).
Apple is still telling me it will delivery today (23rd) but I doubt it.
