Must be this flight, so I don't know why I have the second scan:

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS85/history/20160923/0102Z/PANC/KSDF:

Date Aircraft Origin Destination Departure Arrival Duration
22-Sep-2016 MD11 Anchorage Intl (PANC) Louisville Intl (KSDF) 05:09PM AKDT 02:49AM EDT (+1) En Route
22-Sep-2016 MD11 Shanghai Pudong Int'l (PVG / ZSPD) Anchorage Intl (PANC) 11:06PM CST 03:03PM AKDT 7:57

It's real simple. The UPS tracking is using local time zones at the scan point. If they showed the scan based on UTC and the estimated delivery by date only until it's out for delivery, it would be really hard to screw it up.

Apple said mine would be delivered no later than the 23rd, UPS had an estimated delivery date for the 21st, then 22nd, and now no info available. I got the severe weather delay notification, but looks like its just departed from Korea.View attachment 657581
Me too, definitely should be the 24th for anybody whose phone is on that flight that just departed from incheon :)

Same. I think it's UPS Flight 6099. Lands in Anchorage tomorrow at 09:47am PST. I read on reddit that Apple and UPS was going to upgrade our shipments so it delivers on saturday. Apparently that reddit user talked to both Apple and UPS customer service and got double confirmation. I don't know how trustworthy that is so I'll just leave it out there. Fingers crossed!

And no one could plan. No, something happened with volume that really caused problems. Maybe one bad route. Something cascaded to effect a ton of people.

So far the reasons I have seen given for this are:
  • Mechanical Failure
  • Weather
  • Scans have not caught up yet
  • Paperwork (why it appears the phones are bouncing around the world)
  • Customs Issues
  • "No information at this time"
  • "special Apple operating plans" (see response below from help@ups.com)

"Thanks for taking he time to reach out to us with your concern and allowing us to respond. Your frustration is understandable and I will try to explain what is happening. Due to special Apple operating plans, out of UPS's control, scheduled
delivery dates may fluctuate on US Imports. The date may continue to update until the package enters the US. Once the package is imported into the US the scheduled delivery date should no longer fluctuate. The text messages you are receiving are due to the fluctuating delivery date.

I would suggest to continue tracking the package on UPS.com for further updates as to when the package will arrive in the US. I am sorry for the
frustration this is causing."

Wow, I haven't read the entire thread, but I hope I'm not the only one here that can actually use my critical thinking skills...

The massive iPhone orders move from the factory in China to a shipping hub in South Korea, where they sit for a bit to determine their next destination in the U.S., and at the same time, that information is verified and virtually scanned at UPS' main shipping hub in the U.S. which happens to be in Louisville Kentucky. Then, in my case, since I currently live in Portland Oregon, it hops from the hub in South Korea to Hong Kong, then Hong Kong to Alaska, then down to Oregon. Got my iPhone 7 Plus today, a week earlier than originally scheduled.

1) No, there is something a bit more than that going on.

2) How long between reaching the hub and your hands?

No, nothing a bit more going on... happens every year with the launch of a new iPhone. The only exception is those that are having weather delays or something, which I just happened to miss. But for me, it took two days between the Korea hub to Portland Oregon. I had a friend who took 3 days (his being delivered tomorrow.) Here is my screenshot below...

also, when I ordered 6 minutes after midnight the night it went on sale, it was scheduled for delivery between September 27-29.

Add me to the ones with phone stuck in Korea for 2+ days. Now they say it is but to weather. I fully understand how 79 degrees 10% chance of rain can hold up things... only if you are UPS.

If nothing more is happening, why did UPS first tell me my order was moving as expected, then during the next chat blame Apple's "special operations", and then update to say "severe weather" delays without a storm in sight between SK and AK"? Does that happen every year, they just throw out random excuses for the same shipment even though they are verifiably untrue?

At least theirs is coming. I ordered at 09:08AM on 09/09 and I'm still scheduled for 03-07 oktober.

This is normal behavior if you live in Alaska. You look at night and is says arrived in Anchorage only to wake up in the morning to see it departed anchorage to Kentucky or Minnesota just to put back on a plane and flown back.

Suddenly mine is stuck in Korea due to severe weather. When I check the local Korean weather they have clear skies and 59F. Of course this is after I was told it's a customs issue and was alerted 2x of a delivery yesterday and again today. Something is fishy.
[doublepost=1474605472][/doublepost]
Yeah 59F and fair skies, that's "severe". :) Seriously I can't even find a rain radar for that area, just clouds.
Exact same message I got from them. Weather is clear and 59F. Now we wait for the next lie from UPS.

I just got the same.

Tim Cook must have told UPS he was a fan of Mr toads wild ride.. but since the iPhones don't come out around April fools day it happens now.

I'm another one. I ordered an ATT 256gb Jet black Plus a couple minutes into pre order launch. Apple said 1-2 weeks and 9/26- 10-3. But then when shipped UPS said the 21st.
I have all the locations in my clock app and literally the random phantom fake stop in Louisville was 2 hours after it left Korea..
So coming on the 23rd is still better than I thought originally.

But on the other hand my series 2 watch took 3 days to get out of Asia (zhengzhou -shanghai-Narita/Tokyo.) But in about 22 hours went from Narita-Anchorage-Louisville-LAX-delivered. It also came a day earlier than UPS said it would be when shipped and a week earlier than Apple was guessing initially.

what did you order? I know that I was origionally going to order the Jet Black but when I was shipping in November, I was like.. um... no...

My phone shows a departure scan of 11:00 AM from ICN now. At least it's moving. Maybe UPS has some magic to get it to Honolulu by Friday....
