I departed either 1 minute or over 3 hours before you. Two departure scans. I wouldn't be surprised if I am stuck with you.
Man, someone screwed up!
Me too, definitely should be the 24th for anybody whose phone is on that flight that just departed from incheonApple said mine would be delivered no later than the 23rd, UPS had an estimated delivery date for the 21st, then 22nd, and now no info available. I got the severe weather delay notification, but looks like its just departed from Korea.View attachment 657581
It's real simple. The UPS tracking is using local time zones at the scan point. If they showed the scan based on UTC and the estimated delivery by date only until it's out for delivery, it would be really hard to screw it up.
So far the reasons I have seen given for this are:
- Mechanical Failure
- Weather
- Scans have not caught up yet
- Paperwork (why it appears the phones are bouncing around the world)
- Customs Issues
- "No information at this time"
- "special Apple operating plans" (see response below from help@ups.com)
"Thanks for taking he time to reach out to us with your concern and allowing us to respond. Your frustration is understandable and I will try to explain what is happening. Due to special Apple operating plans, out of UPS's control, scheduled
delivery dates may fluctuate on US Imports. The date may continue to update until the package enters the US. Once the package is imported into the US the scheduled delivery date should no longer fluctuate. The text messages you are receiving are due to the fluctuating delivery date.
I would suggest to continue tracking the package on UPS.com for further updates as to when the package will arrive in the US. I am sorry for the
frustration this is causing."
Wow, I haven't read the entire thread, but I hope I'm not the only one here that can actually use my critical thinking skills...
The massive iPhone orders move from the factory in China to a shipping hub in South Korea, where they sit for a bit to determine their next destination in the U.S. (for those of us here) and at the same time, that information is verified and virtually scanned at UPS' main shipping hub in the U.S. which happens to be in Louisville Kentucky. Then, in my case, since I currently live in Portland Oregon, it hops from the hub in South Korea to Hong Kong, then Hong Kong to Alaska, then down to Oregon. Got my iPhone 7 Plus today, a week earlier than originally scheduled.
And in some cases it is still processing and ships in November....
They just don't want to under estimate so they are going WAY over. Maybe sales are lower than expected. I ordered late on 9/17 and I may get it tomorrow or Monday after an estimate of mid-October.This is Me.
My Apple Watch is stuck in Shanghai due to "Severe Weather".
Well, I am on the way from Anchorage to Kentucky, still no estimated date. I hope the is because they are pushing for tomorrow.

1) No, there is something a bit more than that going on.
2) How long between reaching the hub and your hands?
No, nothing a bit more going on... happens every year with the launch of a new iPhone. The only exception is those that are having weather delays or something, which I just happened to miss. But for me, it took two days between the Korea hub to Portland Oregon. I had a friend who took 3 days (his being delivered tomorrow.) Here is my screenshot below...
also, when I ordered 6 minutes after midnight the night it went on sale, it was scheduled for delivery between September 27-29.
Exact same message I got from them. Weather is clear and 59F. Now we wait for the next lie from UPS.Yeah 59F and fair skies, that's "severe".Seriously I can't even find a rain radar for that area, just clouds.
I just got the same.Apple said mine would be delivered no later than the 23rd, UPS had an estimated delivery date for the 21st, then 22nd, and now no info available. I got the severe weather delay notification, but looks like its just departed from Korea.View attachment 657581
At least theirs is coming. I ordered at 09:08AM on 09/09 and I'm still scheduled for 03-07 oktober.
