That is just your perception of it. They have adhered strictly to the Basic Law agreed upon with the UK. Article 18, if you want to read up and just don't parrot your biased media.

They don't change the rules more than the US when it comes to maritime law. Diaoyu / Senkaku islands off Taiwan should by all relevant laws and the Potsdam declaration after the war belong to China, but was ”given” to Japan.

China changed the rules in regards to Hong Kong, despite its agreement with the UK, and is changing the rules when it comes to territorial sea claims, despite international maritime agreements.

They still have 300 nukes, the US has 6000.

Again: do you see any Chinese gunboats off your coast? Because the Chinese see yours off theirs, and have done so for the past 100 years.

I don't see gunboats, but I see nearly 700,000 dead people from the virus China unleashed on the world. Forget gunboats, CCP decided biowarfare was appropriate.

I am Canadian.

You know US gunboats in Asian waters is a carryover from WW2. Asia to this day is still seething with unresolved issues. China would like US gunboats to leave because perhaps it assumes it can take-over in that area and its Asian neighbours can accept that. They won't.

Gosh, you unleashed it on yourself. China contained it long before it became pandemic.

So it's the world's fault that the virus spread worldwide beyond Wuhan?

It did not arise in Wuhan, and it did not spread from Wuhan. It was present in both Europe and the US in December, before China even knew what they were dealing with. There is nothing they could have done.

So it's the world's fault that the virus spread worldwide beyond Wuhan? Bot makes no sense.

C'mon man. If you're going to propagandize, at least make it plausible.

A lot of Chinese travel to or live in Europe. If they found evidence of covid-19 in sewage treatment plants in Europe from December this could point to Chinese people in Europe using washroom facilities and perhaps why it appeared to travel so quickly around the world.

Right, but the Chinese authorities had no clue about this being a new virus until late december, when it had already gone global.

This is ridiculous and sounds like the voice of an evil dictatorship and lunatic regime. I will certainly fight to keep my WeChat app to keep in touch with my Chinese friends and contacts. Visiting China this app is almost a necessity.
lol. Oh yeah? And what do you plan on doing?

Or is it the other way around? People who are so scared by authority to wear a mask 24 / 7 are upset they can't use the China app Tik-Tok.

???
Nah it’s definitely the other way around. Only sociopaths think mask wearers couldn’t possibly be doing it for any other reason than fear. Some people are actually willing to do the bare minimum to help without being told it’s required.

China forces Apple and Google to remove a plethora of US based apps off the Chinese AppStore, everything is business as usual. US wants to remove Chinese based apps, they’re “bullying”.

seems like there’s a double standard. China is constantly forcing apps off the Chinese AppStore, why shouldn’t any other county be able to do the same?

Meanwhile China is constantly removing apps off the AppStore in China. But of course they’re not a dis gator ship or a “lunatic regime”. No China is removing apps off the AppStore for the good of the country.... suuurrre

Google does not have an accessible Chinese Google Play Store in China. China cannot force Google to remove any app. This is disinformation.

It's irrelevant WHEN the virus appeared. WHERE and HOW it erupted is the question. It was created in a lab in Wuhan.

About time. Less threatening more doing though.

Makes us no different than the communist and dictatorial totalitarian nations we claim to be better than. The freedom of choice should include the freedom to be a complete idiot with your own personal information.

These matters should only escalate to a matter of public concern once multiple parties are pulled into a mechanism of collusion. However.... shall we really get into all THAT again????

HERE IS AN IDEA:

PUT LARGE OBVIOUS WARNING LABELS ON THE DANGEROUS APPS IN THE APPSTORES SO PEOPLE CAN MAKE INFORMED CHOICES!

You know... like we do with:

1. Cigarettes
2. Foods
3. Drugs
4. Alcohol
5. Guns.... oh wait....

🤦‍♂️

It will not be that difficult to put a country of origin label to apps in the App Store, although I'm not sure US government wants to do it. They push against the requirement of "country of origin" label for agricultural products in trade talks with the UK.

Oh this is going to get interesting. Just so I know if you're a Chinese agent or not, just preface your post with the answer to this:

What happened in Beijing, 4th of June 1989?

The government sent in their troops to deal with protesters.

The U.S. is following that same playbook in Portland, OR. Mothers protesting? Can't have that.

Law and order!

To an extent I agree. Although with the way companies are structured and how data is housed and managed i can tell you that handling things like GDPR and CCPA are much more logistically challenging to enforce and easily obscured by simply ticking some boxes on reporting forms.

What will be good about such an approach is it creates and maintains public awareness which will eventually lead to a value proposition of companies volunteering and proving what they are doing with their data and so on.

They just need to make it a certification process to avoid having the “unsafe” label slapped on them.
