Got a tracking number on UPS My Choice from AI, shipping out of Lebanon, TN (I’m in Atlanta, Ga). For sure it’s the phone or the trade in kit because I’ve already received the accessories I ordered. More than likely it’s the phone though due to package weight, feels weird to not be tracking the phone from China this year.

Edit - This is an Apple.com order not a carrier if that matters.

edit: I remember now a bit more about that, it's that I couldn't make any changes to the loan, payments, or profile updates for the month or so around the arrival of the new phone and the box I was expected to use to send them the year old phone. But I basically kept most year's phones and just kept paying on it, or bought out the loan outright.

I think i learned of the lock when wanted to pay off a loan, but it was locked so I couldn't.
The whole "Citizens experience" has improved a TON since those first few years of the upgrade program. It used to be pretty rough, and you had to call them to do anything. There's a dedicated account website now, and you can do more things online than you used to be able to. Not perfect, but it's come a long way.

lol are people seriously emailing Tim about their orders? 🤣
Are you concerned about Tim? How sweet!

I think he's got the situation handled by assembling a team who is dedicated to customer service to respond to these emails. Not to worry, Tim doesn't have to take time away from his important work for these emails. lol

Apple has made it clear by their responses that this email is available for escalated customer service to people who have emailed about issues with orders placed in the first minutes of preorders.

It would be ridiculous to place an order today and expect "emailing Tim" to change your shipping to launch day, but these are repeat customers who Apple can see placed their order when stock was available for launch day delivery.

Maybe you guys can set up your own thread about people asking for help and save us from having to read all your complaints about them. lol

Enjoy the anticipation, the phones will be here soon. Maybe not soon enough, but soon.

I've also had our phones just left on the doorstep no matter how quickly I ran to the door. Safe neighborhood and we see UPS daily. Pilot's discretion, as it were!
My previous home was a safe location on a quiet cul-de-sac and our driver knew us well. lol Our new home has the porch where at least 6 houses can see it and we are on the corner of a busy intersection. That and living only minutes away from the Apple Store are why I'm doing ISPU this year.

Silver Pro Max 128GB ordered 940AM EST with a delivery of 10/6-10/13. Is this accurate? im seeing others placing the same phone hours after me with a 9/19 release date?

I found it way better in the early days, or at least that's how I remember it.lol I think a human actually answered my calls a couple years ago. My recent call for help regarding canceling the phone's Apple Care to move it to my AppleCare One plan was a disaster of frustration with AI CS, "I can understand complete sentences" nonsense which did not immediately get me to a human almost led me to throwing the phone across the room. ::yikes::

And as I almost never sent back the phone (I have a bunch of their "return kits" in storage) the ACMI definitely makes more sense for me. This year, all my immediate family's phones already have new homes arranged with friends who know I'm the go to for their upgrade plans. lol

All my iPhone deliveries have been left on the porch without signatures over the years. My driveway is 500ft long so the likelihood that someone comes to steal it it low. Since I won’t be home on Friday I hope this occurs again. Someone will be there to watch the house. 🤞🏻

Until apple builds a factory in the US where they 100% built in the US then the product will always originate form China.
Yeah, I didn't mean they didn't originate in China, I just meant from an end user's perspective when it comes to tracking. Sounds like people are seeing tracking info originating from the states which is different from years past.

Can I pre-sign for delivery?
No - UPS sender specifically won't allow this feature.

If you won't be home, find a neighbor who will accept delivery or choose UPS access point as soon as the tracking # becomes available.

The more you wait, the chances are greater it will be the next day.

This policy might be different based on how it's been ordered: Apple store, Carrier or 3rd party like Best Buy.

So, it's not Tim directly, but Apple has an amazing history of helping with customer service/order/etc issues when his office is emailed. He has publicly mentioned many, many times to email him if you have a problem...and his admin team is pretty great at following up on those emails.

I am curious, it seems the posts are from carrier orders and perhaps special carrier offers purchased through Apple.com- in other words, phones with eSIM already set, and maybe locked, with the assigned phone number. It makes sense those would come from the carrier's shipping locations.

Perhaps it is the new norm with India manufacturing that the Apple.com ordered phones get labeled out of US locations, but in previous years all Apple launch day phones were tracked all the way from Asia to the consumer.

I don't believe any of my Asia tracked phones had pre-assigned SIMs, my recollection is all phone transferred the SIM info during migration from old phone.

Time will tell.
