I had a delivery date of September 25, got moved up to September 19th, but I am still in the processing stage. Is this normal, and should I trust that it will come on Friday?
 
Ordered iPhone 17 Pro Deep Blue from Apple Store, tracking showed up this morning. Apparently already in PA

I put in the order number for UPS Tracking by reference and got this:

That was Apple accessories that were delivered yesterday.
The order # does not differentiate between the phone and accessories....
So the order # does work on the UPS system!

Exactly the same problem. I think UPS My Choice is truly messed up. I have a Premium account. I was on the phone with UPS about this yesterday for over an hour, bounced from department to department. Finally a rep from the tech dept said he was going to consult with a new department and would call me back in 10 minutes. That was yesterday at around 2pm. About to call again but I don't have much hope they have any idea. Good luck. And if you do find a solution, please post it here.

Last year i did end up using iCloud restore after trying both phone to phone and encrypted backup on Mac restore.

One advantage to iCloud restore if you can start using the phone as it downloads apps, while it appeared the other restores had to finish before the phone would be in a useable state. My schedule that day did not have enough time for me to let it finish the restores with cables and i kept having to leave the house before it’d completed.

I plan, haha, to not interrupt it this year. lol You know what they say about plans.

Let's be clear about this. It doesn't matter how someone tracks by reference if they already have a tracking number. Once you have a tracking number I believe you can track by reference using your entire order number. We cannot do that if we don't have a tracking number. And the old methods of entering the order number minus that last 2 digits or phone number minus the last 2 digits don't work either.

Can one transfer phone to phone via USB-C cable instead of WiFi ?

Well, ordinarily yes. Apple has been good about delivering on the listed delivery day. But bugs do happen. But for your own sake, try to trust you'll get it on the 19th. Apple itself will not change the status to shipped until it clears customs in Louisville KY. I'm in PTS status but cannot track the package by any of the old track by reference methods and my UPS My Choice Premium account seems to be messed up. I have no tracking history and new packages, including this one, don't show.

Do you have a tracking number? If not, that's the whole point. It seems none of us can track by reference until we have a tracking number, by which time it's not necessary to track by reference.

I always used to restore using encrypted backup from my MAC but lately I've used phone to phone, glitchy. Restoring from iCloud is an option but doesn't preserve passwords. I'm still unclear whether my current 16 PM has to be on iOS 26 to restore by any method or can stay on 18.7, the current 18 version.
 
Ordered a 17PM and got a label coming from Carlisle PA. I do have a trade in as well but weight is listed at 1.1 pounds so that does seem a bit much for an empty box?
