I beat on my iPhone Pros and they have done just fine totally caseless for years (14P, 15P, 16PM), lots of drops to concrete. I did crack the back on a 16PM but that was a 15 foot drop to concrete; most cases would still have allowed the crack. The phone's operation was not affected.

The day of launch, the store pickup is paused with a message saying to recheck like 5am or so. That would be the best time to recheck for instore pick up.
I was told by the store that on Friday 9/19 we could handle phones at my SF Bay Area Apple Store. And some Apple Stores have special hours for Friday 9/19. E.g. my local store in CA opens at 8 AM instead of at 10 AM.

That’s weird, which version of U3? I ordered Natural Milanese the next day and scheduled to arrive on Launch Day
My local stores are setting everything for 9/20 to allow release day pickups to be done

This has already been discussed, they found it by it showing up in UPS MyChoice. After it showed up, it was traceable using the entire order number as a reference. Before that, nothing showed up when tracking by reference.
It might have been discussed, but I used the full tracking number, and I have MyChoice, and it's still not there. Just because it's there for you doesn’t mean it's there for everyone.
Relax, yours will deliver on Friday.
Apple is very good at this - over the years they have perfected launch day deliveries - whether it's UPS or Apple store.
You will get a tracking # on Wed or Thu if the phones are stateside.
It's just a shame this year that there is no China to US tracking, plane spotting, weather delays, time zone changes, and flight track fun....
Yeah i'm getting the pro max still noting has of 12:30 est. I'd say late tomorrow night or wedensday for sure we will have the tracking numbers.
Huh? The point is, you can’t track it before it shows up in mychoice naturally. There is no finding it early by reference.

I’ve gotten my hopes up twice tonight over deliveries appearing in My Choice. Unfortunately, they’re just exciting things like my husband’s supplements 😂

Lots of changes this year. The phones are already here in the US, at least the one who are delivering on the 19th. They are also withholding tracking info to keep us from hammering the servers.

My phone just this minute appeared in the UPS app. I was going in to sign up for my choice and it appeared, when I was there a few minutes ago to see what the cost of upgrading, phone wasn’t there. Now watch and phone are both there. Friday delivery in Texas
Just got a tracking number in the UPS app for my orange 17 Pro, shipping from Carlisle, PA. Oddly enough, I placed this order several hours after the preorders went live, as my original preorder had the 9/25 glitch and I ended up canceling it. My wife’s phone (blue 17 Pro) was actually the first preorder that processed, but there’s still no tracking for it. Logistics are a weird thing!
I am in that scenario. No e-mail from Apple, but it shows on UPS App. Not worried, if it says 9/19 delivery, you will have the phone on 9/19.
I had a watch pre-ordered with a store pickup at lunch time on Friday and hoped it would let me add my phone pre-order to the watch pickup but of course it couldn’t be that easy. Ended up cancelling the watch and re-ordering that for delivery too, now I have one UPS “label created” and no idea which item it’s for. I’m sure they’ll both turn up at some point Friday night. I plan to camp out in the driveway with my chair from 5pm onward.
I've got a Sept. 22 delivery date in Michigan. Ordered pretty much right at 8 eastern.
