Go Caseless. Add AppleCare for peace of mind. Once you take off your case and get comfortable, you won't go back...
I don’t trust going caseless, even if I add AppleCare, because you still have to pay for repairs. I have my Otterbox, which never lets me down, and I also got a screen protector, so my phone looks brand new every year. For instance, if you have gym shorts on, they'll slide out of your pocket easily, especially when sitting down.

I can confirm that UPS Tracking by reference is working. Just use the entire order number (including the ‘W’) and the state (without the ZIP code). If you don’t see anything, it means your label hasn’t been created yet.
you're right!

Shipment Ready for UPS

Estimated delivery: UPS doesn’t have possession of the package yet. Estimated delivery date will be available as soon as we get the package.

That. Several of my pants have shallow pockets. Can't count how many times my phone has slipped out of them. Thank heavens for the warranted Belkin Ultraglass screen protector I replace at least 3 times a year. So now I always lay my phone down somewhere. Have left it in just about every courthouse restroom in my entire state.

Im starting to worry, no movement at all, no charge

I’m not as experienced as many folks here, but this is my 4th time ordering a launch day iPhone from Apple. Every time, I felt like there was no way my iPhone could make it to me by Friday based on various things that didn’t look “right” to me. But, it always did. And I have no doubt it will this time, as well. Just hang in there! Apple is good about making sure the launch day iPhones arrive launch day.

iCloud backups tend to be not as complete as phone-to-phone transfer and iTunes/Finder-encrypted backups.
iCloud is definitely quicker to getting the phone in hand and tapping about. But the apps are loading for some time afterwards.

Some years ago I wouldn't even consider iCloud restore, and then I used it exclusively for quite some time after that. lol I do not remember exactly when I switched, but I was amazed, and continue to be amazed, at how well it works.

Somehow, this year again, I keep thinking I should switch to the encrypted restore again. The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning toward iCloud Restore again.

My first iPhone was an iPhone 3G. I still run off the backup from then. (3G, 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6s, 7, 13PM o_O *my rapid phone changes were when I worked at Apple*)
I've had one new phone every time Apple released one, except for the iPhone X year when I had two with the 8 Plus for two months, or so, before the X was delivered. I do not have working at Apple to blame, but I have been working with Apple stuff since 1987 when my new girlfriend had an original 128k Macintosh. Right now I'm running three MBPs and two Mac Studios! I'm a true nutcase!

I think I'm still using the backup based on that original iPhone. I know I've restarted several times with Apple gear, but pretty sure it was all Macintosh and not iPhone.

It was so different back then as all syncing had to be done through iTunes. If I added or changed a contact I had to sync it so both Mac and iPhone had the same info. I had to sync playlists from iTunes, and there were no Podcasts. lol I think Safari bookmarks were also synced via iTunes as there was no other way to do it.

Since Apple quit making Leather Cases, which I used because I liked the feel, I've been using ESR clear plastic with their Camera Guard kickstand. I've not noticed yellowing on them, but I only use them a year before they get sent off to my family or friends.

Having had every new iPhone, I've never broken or damaged a screen other than a few minor scratches some years ago. Amazing catches a few times as the phone was in mid-air heading to the ground and I reached down and caught it!

Apple Care has replaced a few phones when I had camera issues, and some sort of power problem- I don't remember if it was a battery or a 30 Pin or a Lightning jack issue. But never for a broken phone even when I didn't use a case.

apple is obviously doing things different this year. must be due to the tariff scare and the fact that they are making a lot in india. i ordered at 5:04 and have a delivery date for 9/19. nothing shows on ups. the phones are clearly already here in the us. i expect to see something thursday morning.
