It's so weird not having tracking this close to release day. My phone is "preparing to ship" and I have release day delivery for my order, still nothing in UPS. I'm sure everything is fine, but if they're doing 2nd day air, they have to ship by tomorrow afternoon/evening to make here in the PNW by Friday. Keeping my fingers crossed.
It’s not unusual: many in the past, including me, didn’t receive tracking until launch day when suddenly all of the tracking info appeared. The device had been in transit the whole time, but the tracking info populated after the fact.

Tracking will typically never happen until the phones are stateside. It's unclear exactly what the situation was this year, but tracking#s "should" in theory start showing up tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

My AirPods Pro 3 (customized) showed up at UPS a bit ago, weighing 0.7lbs. If you use the website, it will show you the order number if you click "View Details". Not sure if it shows up in the app like that too..

I believe the same as the silicone/clear case. Holding both cases (the 16PRO clear and the new one), feels the same to me. Here's my 16Pro with both cases:

So far, how do you like that case? I love the way they look but I'm scarred from the first woven case that looked horrible just after a day or two of use.

Never? Uh, then how did myself and MANY others on this forum over the past many years get tracking from the moment when pallets of devices left ZhengZou, China and follow the whole way to Anchorage,AK for customs clearance and then onto Louisville, KY WorldPort and final delivery?
People who have been doing this for years have had this experience. Yes some people don't get tracking till closer to release as well. This is the first year I have not seen tracking within a few days. This is just my experience was all I was saying.

Apple typically won't update the status until Wednesday or Thursday.

Our phones and watches are sitting on a pallet, locked up until they are released to go the destination terminal. They will be loaded on the trucks either late Thursday night or early Friday morning. I have a Friend who works at UPS and says pallets of iPhones and Apple Watches would be locked up and secured till the last second to prevent theft.

Right but until this year we were able to track by reference. I can muster up patience but I liked it better when we knew where our phones were and the progress from China to Anchorage to Louisville. Not just because I wanted to know every move my phone made but because it was part of the camaraderie here to track them, figure out which plane they might be on, seeing the scans. Much more fun than sitting in the dark and suddenly getting tracking info once they're stateside.

If you are doing an ISPU, be careful as there are scammers out there that will impersonate you, acquire the QR pickup code, and fake an ID.

Has happened many times to people that are picking up in store.
Nope.....delivery from Apple.

I just don't get how the person could know what I ordered......I did look up the phone number and it is in fact a local Verizon store about 75-miles from my house.
I logged into My Verizon and checked everything....it all looks good and no orders placed, which is good!

Verizon's login security is pretty good.......ID, Password and then it sends a link to your phone to authenticate the login attempt is valid, which you have to approve.

Yeah...it seems that with every passing year, the fun and innocence in every thing goes away...

Guess Apple has been learning that UPS employees or contractors will steal them anyway.

Like mine last year when it went missing as soon as the truck from the airport to the UPS distribution hub.....

Thank you! I am really tempted both by the sienna and the green to go with my orange Pro. I just worry about bulk. I use a pretty thin case on my 16PM now. I have been thinking about going caseless, not sure i am that brave though.

Saturday afternoon... I was not sure if I was upgrading this year... also, mine is not the Max so it's not so popular. They had the 19th available for pick up until Saturday morning. I was thinking of waiting to see it in the store first to decide but I ended up ordering anyway lol
Lol let me know if you get it this Friday!

For the past year, I've been promising myself that this would be the year that I wouldn't migrate my phone and would start from scratch. For goodness sake, my iPhone backup started on the iPhone (2007) and has made its way through the 3G(S), 4S, 5S, 6S, X, 11Pro, 12Pro, and now my 14Pro. Without question, there has to be corruption and other digital sludge in there from eighteen years of use. But it seems so overwhelming to start over that I'll probably just migrate the darned thing again.

Anyone else started from scratch? How painful was it? How'd you transfer the stuff you couldn't just recreate?

The only issue I have with this are my 2FA codes - those prevent me from starting from scratch. Setting up those accounts again, I donno...

I haven’t started from scratch, but I’m considering it this year. With data backed up in iCloud, I feel like it should go okay. MFA on another device, so not a concern there.

Lol, mine was migrated all the way from the OG iPhone as well.

I'm considering a restore from iCloud this year instead of phone-to-phone transfer to minimize the crud. iCloud backups tend to be not as complete as phone-to-phone transfer and iTunes/Finder-encrypted backups.
