An Apple "genius" once told me that setting up from scratch eliminates the risk of bringing over bugs from the old phone. So I did that a few times, major pain. Now I usually restore from iCloud or phone to phone but I think this time I'll try restoring from my encrypted MAC backup.
I have started several new MBPs from scratch, it took me months to get all my applications and files synced to where I wasn't having to interrupt my work to install that app I'd not yet used.

If you live a simple life, it'd be easy to start over. In my life it'd take months.

In 18 years I don't recall bringing any old "bugs" to my new iPhone... . I get the theory, but in practice... , not necessary.

Got my shipped email, AppleCare coverage email so now I know the serial number, trade-in kit email for IUP and UPS has possession of my package now!

Wahooo! Can't wait until tomorrow!! :)

Well, I can tell you I had problems with my old device—mostly random SpringBoard restarts—and after I set up my new iPhone using that backup, the same issues started happening on the new device too. So, I don’t know if you’re being sarcastic by putting “genius” in quotes, but that could definitely happen.

My UPS CC was small and on launch days, the line would be out the door with people milling about lol. I had a good rapport with the UPS CC workers, as I do all my outbound shipping and was there multiple times during the week. Now for my outbound packages, I have to drive a small distance to the UPS store and roll the dice that my outbound do not get rummaged thru or stolen (see the YouTube videos about the UPS Store and the 10k Leica or the rare guitar). Now I have to stand by until 6:59pm on launch day lol.
I used to do customer counter hold for pick up but last time they refused. True or not, they stated Apple not allowing delivery exceptions on first attempted or only Apple could change.

I think I might be the only person left that has a phone that says delivering tomorrow that is still currently saying "processing" and UPS My Choice has no info on the phone.. going to guess that means I get an email later today saying that my phone will be delayed.

More than likely the stores already have inventory in the store. It should update shorty before you pick it up tomorrow.
"Ready for Pickup" is the next step in the progression in the Apple Store app, and as it is not Friday they are not yet "Ready".

It was the same address, but Apple used all caps for some reason.
I work on the tech side for a company that does a lot of shipping and mailing. Everyone receives at least some training in USPS best practices. Addresses in all caps with no punctuation is one of those. So, companies who do a lot of shipping often format addresses that way as a matter of course.

CCC is not coming back anytime soon, mine they took all the customer facing stuff out last year. I would just do ISPU since you are close, I'm having to do ISPU for a family members phone but lol it's a 3 hour drive one way to that Apple Store.
CCC reopening is my wish, but I do know they are reducing staff to maximize profits regardless of the customer experience. ::sigh:: I do know they are not coming back, but if CS ever comes back into style, maybe.

Fortunate that this year we moved to within minutes of the Apple Store from a half hour away. Good timing!

Two phones in possession of UPS in Ontario going to Denver. Neither indicate “signature required”. Does this mean it’s up to the discretion of the driver?
The UPS driver is required to take a photo of the package sitting in front of your door, then it is attached to the e-mail you will get indicating delivered as proof of delivery. If no photo, then that is a red flag for questionable activity. Or they are supposed to. At least in Colorado. Hope this helps.

Anyone still have the cancel button for their phone, not been charged and it says order in progress/processing? Apple watch just notified it shipped but it charged last week and the tracking label was made several days ago. It still says 9/19 so im betting it just all happens together all of a sudden but im curious!

I know one of the UPS CCC here told me they were going to rotate her to whatever they do back in the hub. The other worker I ran into him at the airport and he told me he now does airline stuff now (not sure). I would just love for CCC to return for my outbound packages for sure.

Decided to order some cases yesterday. Those shipped from the Apple Store in the mall. Interesting to see apple using stores as distribution centers now. I know it is a retail trend, but first time I am seeing it from Apple.

Good for you though :)
I’m 5.5 hours drive from an Apple Store.
And yeah, I asked the CCC before they shut it down what she would do when they closed it, just said that she’d work in the back sorting. I knew she wasn’t happy about it.
Profitability before anything else, more than anything these days.

Does anyone know if ups provides a delivery time frame on day of delivery? I’ll be at work and I assume I’ll need to sign for delivery. If there is a delivery window I could pop home from work.
