I just checked for walk in purchase and it's not at all Apple Stores.

Found an Air further away for pickup today, after passing 3 nearby Apple stores.

Now the UPS is showing a delay due to a “sortation” error and is being routed to the correct destination. We’ll see how this pans out.

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same. This is odd. Ordered A silver 17 PM 256 GB with confirmation email at 8:03 am ET. Delivery date was 9/25 as a lot of others encountered.

A few days ago, I got two different emails and text messages telling me my order was updated and my phone would now deliver on launch day, 9/19.

Minutes ago, I got another email from Apple, saying my order had shipped and would deliver 9/22. I tapped the tracking number which took me to the Apple Store order page, also saying delivery 9/22. When I tap the tracking number there to review on UPS, the tracking says the label was created a few hours ago and that UPS still does not have possession of my phone.

Where it gets more odd, I refreshed the order page which updated and says delivery tomorrow. But UPS tracking is unchanged.

Normally by this time I would see activity on my phone from China to Alaska to KY etc. but I’m seeing no scans at all for the tracking number. Hoping things are still on track for tomorrow but I’m not optimistic at this point.

Good news, both my AirPods Pro 3 and my iPhone are at my local hub waiting to be loaded on a truck for delivery today.

Oddly enough, the Apple Store app sent a push notification about 20 minutes ago saying delivery 9/22. Something is really off on their backend for this year’s preorder.

Glad everything seems to have worked out though!

Didn't get that email unfortunately. Everything in my apple store app mentions returning my old phone at the store so they can close out the old loan :/

Def noticeable this year - not sure why. As of 7:05 still processing for 830am pick up in CT - is it a local store thing? Employees need to confirm and mark as ready maybe?

Left house at 810 still processing got to trumbull mall by 825 start store app get welcome to trumbull mall for your pickup, get started walked in and out with phone by 835.

They do give you 14 days to brink back previous phone with apple IUP, you dont have to leave it at pock up.

Just cancelled my preorder (oct 6-13) delivery and was able to snag a 256gb orange PM for in store pickup today. Did not expect to see availability for in store pickups for new orders today!

Exact same for me. I guess they reserved some in-store stock for today.

Did we ever find out if it’s signature required? My usual UPS delivery time is late afternoon and I have a medical thing at 8:30 this morning. With massive Apple deliveries the normal schedule always changes quite a bit, so I’m a bit nervous if signing is required.

For UPS iphone launch day deliveries signature is definitely required, at least for Verizon. They won’t even allow you to sign in advance on the My Choice app/website.

I totally prefer to preorder and pick up at the store. For some reason in my area for the past few years Verizon hasn’t allowed in store pickups on launch day 🫤

Needs to be MagSafe compatible. If the case doesn’t have a mag safe ring built in to it MagSafe accessories won’t work.

What was bungled? 9/25--9/19 dates?

To me, process was different than previous years.

Now if a bunch of people don't get their phones today who have 9/19 delivery date then we can try understand what went wrong.

Mine has been hanging in processing. Said delivering 9/19, now 9/22, but no actual product movement.
