I usually a on/off after a software update, what does a hard reset do that on/off doesn't?

it clears cache, etc. is my understanding.

i think it is like a safe mode reboot on the Mac. Any "corruption" is bypassed by having to reload everything rather than the shortcut of using cache already loaded.

I do know hard reset and safe mode reboots are part of every OS update I've done for the last 15 years at least. I recognized that it may be "voodoo" and not having anything to do with my never having an issue with OS updates, public release or betas, in all that time. But I do enjoy the ritual of it. lol

I use Google as my authentication instead of an email address + password. Not sure if that's related.

Hey, did you get this sorted? Having the same issue here. I don't have icloud backup for messages turned on. I did a full backup to my PC and restored it. All of my data is here except messages.. it is completely blank. Storage still shows that they are present on my device.. seems like a visual bug

We had the same. iCloud messages was off on GF phone (16 Pro) and I could swear all toggles were on for everything before I stated). Done this for ten years and pretty familiar with it! Went back to old phone turned it on, resynced, and same on new phone. All good.

Something def turned off the iCloud messages toggle. Got my Org 256 PM coming next eeek and will check that before and after.

Did phone to phone for her migration and was perfect except for this.

Picked mine up yesterday with ISPU in Seattle Alderwood store. Had a 4:45 - 5:00PM timeslot but arrived at 4PM. No issues at all. Walked away with new phone at 4:10PM.

Sorry, I should have specified that iCloud messages were deliberately turned off by myself. I do not use this feature currently.

There seems to be a bug within iOS 26, I am going to try and update a current thread here and would encourage anyone else encountering this to do so.

Guess demand really was more than expected. Hoping a Sage green pops up in the next week for ISPU, mad I didn't jump on it when it was available launch day!

That's the Air (which is much more in stock in my area too!) Was it the same for the base 256 ones? I actually tried 3 different states and every single one was not available...

I didn't get this sorted, but I called the Apple Support line on Saturday (yesterday) and they connected to my phone to see what was going on. The Apple Advisor spoke to his manager because he couldn't get it fixed, but could see no Messages despite them taking up around 8 GB in my storage. The manager said this has been an issue they were aware of from a lot of customers and a fix was being worked on. He apologized and said hopefully an update will be coming soon.

I did complete the Apple survey after, where I complimented the Advisor's customer service but explained the problem and that it was not solved.

Glad you like it @CodeSpyder I kinda bought it on a whim but because of the color I chose (Black/Orange), I've been wearing it more than the Nike Sports loop that came with the watch.

I guess we lucked out here in FL. I pre-ordered my orange PM. My wife wasn't planning to upgrade her 14 Pro but when we went to pick up her Ultra 3 at the FL Mall zoo, she decided she wanted the DB 17 Pro. We ordered it while we had lunch and picked it up an hour later. I was shocked. There must have been 200 people standing in line who hadn't pre-ordered.

fun! I love my new APP3! I was able to get a good seal tip fit, which I don't think ever really was good with my old APP2.

I went back to the Apple Store today, was helped by the same gentleman who got all my stuff for me in 10 minutes yesterday. It was busier in the store, but less of a line outside the store.

I got the Ultra 3 with the Titanium Milanese Black Loop yesterday. I didn't like it very much, but had to take back the entire watch and band package to buy, not trade in, a new one to get a different band. Trail Loop, which i had several years ago.

are these worth it? I was thinking to order the Airpods 4 with ANC but might order the Pro 3 if they are actually worth it. Also, can we test them somehow at the apple store for deciding?
