I've been on the iOS 26 Beta train since Developer Beta 2 or 3. It's improved dramatically and the RC is running pretty well on my 16PM.
I have the latest public beta for my 16 PM and I haven't experienced any of those issues but I will say that during the day my phone stays on the charger on my desk but I haven't noticed any over heating....did you download the latest update?

I have been checking online regularly as well. I am so tempted to cancel my 17P and reorder with the Air. I just really want to touch is first. If they have stock on launch day, there's always a chance that I cancel while I'm doing my ISPU, if I like it more after I get hands on it.
I’m on RC and I’m not the only one. My dads 14 plus gets really hot doing almost nothing.
You wouldn’t need to install the dev beta on the phone. It’ll come with iOS 26 on it.
Mine go to changes each time but for my 17PM I went for the Supfine case on Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FH655984?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 for me it had the minimalist look I was going for, for the times I want to tone down my orange phone color plus I couldn't beat the price, I think I might even have had the same brand for my 15PM but as there's no branding on the case I don't know anymore.

If I remember correctly, that's how it used to be. Last year, there's an option in the setup process to download the beta. But since we will have official release on Monday, I doubt there will be another beta before Friday.
The only thing to watch for, is if they release a .1 DB before Friday like previous years . If you update to 26.1, I believe you'd have to update your new phone to 26.1 to restore, but I could be wrong.

New phones will come with iOS 26 but they likely will need an additional update right out of the box. Make sure your old phone is also on iOS 26 if you want to do a phone to phone transfer. It has worked perfectly for me last few years.
iOS 26 should release to the public tomorrow, it’s still in beta at the moment. The release candidate was released last week to beta testers.
I've been running the iOS 26 beta since beta 2/3 and my experience has been virtually flawless especially the last few betas and RC is smooth, good battery life and imo running better than the last iOS 18 version I had on my 15PM. I always update all my devices once the RC drops after the event saves fighting with everyone else trying to update when its released the following week.
I can see a label created in My Choice. 1.4 lbs so assuming it’s my pro max or could be my ultra 3

Well I’ll be. I cancelled my Apple Store order from 8:01am est. Decided to go with T-Mobile so I could use my yearly upgrade. Didn’t get my order in until 11:30am est. 17 pro max cosmic orange 256. UPS is showing a label created for the delivery. Figured I wouldn’t get it till next week. 🎉🎉
As long as it is running iOS 26 you should be fine but if you were to jump on the beta for 26.1 or something then you have to update your new phone first, at least that's been my experience the last few times. I always unenroll my devices from the beta program once the RC hits so they go back on the public release track
